On offense, Dallas is fixing something that ain't broke.

On defense, we'll see if Rondo is what he was 3-4 years ago.

Dragic is shooting about 49% this season...and about 37% from the 3 point line. He's not worthless off the ball.

So much for Rondo hurting the Mavs. :p

C'mon man, you can't use 6 games a sample size

We'll see what happens around the all-star beak

Folks were ready to say it doesn't work after they started 1-2. :p

Fair enough, check back in at the ASB.

They are good and they are flawed..... Remember Dallas were embarrassed by GSW in the first round in Dirk's MVP season before the championship?

This can happen in Rondo's first year or they could very deep.

They also went to the Finals with him as coach the prior year.

Not saying AJ is anything close to Rick Carlisle though.

And avery had them change hotel rooms as well. Avery was ridiculous, the mavs won in spite of him.

Depends on chemistry. There is only so much you can do.

I doubt Phil Jackson can help the Lakers to get to the playoffs and have a high seed this season.

The Wizards are the first quality team the have beaten, and they caught them on a B2B. Rondo won't hurt, but he doesn't solve their issues. That team still can't stop anyone defensively.

    Well still early but:

    http://www.mavsoutsider.com/2014/12/30/rajon-rondo-early-takeaways/

"Mavs have a defensive rating of 95.8 on defense with Rondo has played." and like "119.8" when he went to the bench.

Anyway regular season probably won't matter much as this trade is really about the postseason.

Eye-popping SSS stat of the day: When Rondo is on the court, the Mavs have a better defensive rating than the league-leading Warriors. When Rondo is off the court, the Mavs have a worse defensive rating than the league-worst Lakers.

    Per NBA.com:
    Mavs w/ Rondo DRTG = 93.7
    Warriors' first-ranked DRTG = 96.2
    Mavs w/o Rondo DRTG = 114.7
    Lakers' last-ranked DRTG = 110.2
On the other hand, Boston had a better DRTG with Rondo off the court.

 Why is this eye popping? First of all it's a small sample size, compared to this WB's 16 long game streak of dominance is like an entire year. Secondly, the Mavs basically gutted their bench to get Rondo on the squad, so obv they would suck if he sits lol, who's replacing the starters?

Finally I still don't think Rondo is the right fit for them, the Mavs got worse on offense and while their defense is a bit better to be honest a defensive pg can only do so much. Yes they'r 4-2 but to be honest Dallas was capable of going 4-2 anyway LOL it's not like they were a lottery team prior to trading for him.

Bottom line is let's see how well they do against after ASG, that's when the effects of bottoming out their bench will come into play.
