Great analysis! It seems as historical comparables, the S&T is closer to paying a commission or a finders fee, than a true Value-on-Value trade.

However, the rules of the NBA still require the salaries to match up to a certain percentage. So with Bosh signed for the max, + that home team bonus, we would need to come up with a lot of salary or cash to give back. Can we give up cash if we're over the limit already?

Hmmm, also think about it from the Raptor perspective, as in, they could just let Bosh walk. Which is the equivalent of getting an "expiring contract" immediately. Why would they want a Jefferies and pay him $6M for this year just to make the trade happen? Cash they would want.

I feel like from an SnT, the signing team may not want a lot, but probably don't just want an expiring contract, so we shouldn't assume that a thrown exp-contract like Jeffries/Battier is helpful or wanted.

cant do this you cannot package a sign and trade player in a deal, if you sign a free agent you can only trade him and no one else in a deal.

Also Toronto would never do that deal since the Battier/Jeffries expiring contract does nothing for them right now.

what's funny is if someone offered Hedo this time last year, we would all be clamoring for him.

I dont really see a player like Hedo being being invloved in a trade w/the rockets...why? because we would have the worst backcourt in the league in:
    C- Yao
    F- bosh
    F- Hedo
    G- kmart
    G- aaron
the worst D ever...but than again yao and bosh would pick up the slack =D...maybe a trade with toronto involving Hill, battier, anderson, kicks picks and cash consideration for bosh a Hedo...i would hate to see ariza go...but good deal

He did more then Bosh thats for sure. He actually won something in the nba which was the rookie of the year, but the thing is, Gasol was never considered an elite player while he was with the Grizz. He was viewed more of a up and coming. The media and some are you are putting Bosh in the same class as Lebron, Melo, Wade. And my point is he hasn't done anything!!! Hasn't won any awards, hasn't won a playoff game. And he's also very skinny and gets injuryr prone.
What Bosh can do that Luis Scola can't do? After Landry was traded, Luis was a 20 and 10 guy and not only that Luis is an iron man rarely missing games. We can pay him way cheaper then getting Bosh. The only thing Bosh has over Luis is younger legs.
