I find it very interesting at the end of the read....... "Yet it’s believed that the Raptors, if Bosh indeed proves willing to join the Rockets via sign-and-trade, will try to foist Hedo Turkoglu on Houston as part of the deal. Would the Rockets be willing to take on Turkoglu’s contract $43.8 million over the next four years) and surrender, say, Trevor Ariza in return to clinch Bosh’s arrival? The cost of adding Bosh along with Turkoglu would likely be prohibitive for the Rockets, but Toronto certainly figures to try." Replace Hedo for Ariza? Hmm........ I think Ariza's defense is overrated, even though he averages almost 2 steals a game he gambles wahy too much. WIth Hedo, we would have a play making wing player. Granted he did bad this season, but maybe he didn't fit the system. I read somewhere, that they try to make him just into a spot up jump shooter, when that's not really his style.
Raptors want to throw in Turkolu too? I am not sure if we'll need him but if we trade maybe Shane also we could use another SF. this deal sounds pretty good to me.
You call this team solid? Not to mention Hedo ain't worth a shi* since he's been paid and their third best player Jose Calderon was injured for a majority of the season. Or do you call this team solid? Given some of these players will be moved in the trade, but you tell me who has the better team and that he CAN'T take our Rockets team to the playoffs in a tough Western Conference....
I just don't see us taking Hedo, even though he knows Adelman's system. We'd be in permanent luxury tax hell for the next few years. The key is getting Bosh to single us out as the team he wants to go to- then we have all the leverage and don't have to take back their garbage.
I think Morey and Alexander are going all out this year for winning a championship. I don't think they care about the luxury tax.
can't see Morey being willing to take on Hedo. That contract is just disgusting for his age and production. Not worth that money unless he's running point-forward (ugh) like he did in Orlando
You are allowed to send multiple players in a sign and trade, you just can't sign and trade more than one player. For example, we wouldn't be able to sign and trade for Bosh and do a sign and trade with Scola in the same deal.
For Bosh alone: Jordan Hill Rights to Knicks 2011 or 2012 pick Jared Jeffries Shane Battier ($16.9M in outgoing salaries, Jeffries and Shane expiring) If Raptors insist on dumping Hedo, the perks drop (Hill, Knicks pick) Rights to Rockets 2011 2nd round pick Chuck Hayes Trevor Ariza Jared Jeffries Shane Battier ($22.8M outgoing)
Hedo is not worth the money but it's Bosh we are talking about. If we could put him in a productive situation Hedo might prosper in Houston. I actually would not like seeing Ariza exchanged for Hedo but I would think about it for Bosh. Irregardless, this is a very interesting piece.
