our roster would look something like this giving them all of that. We lose Budinger, Hill, Patterson, Knicks picks, Battier. Thats a kings ransom to a rebuilding team like the Raptors. They would be stupid to turn it down or not force Bosh to practicaly come here. so our lineup would still be??? Brooks Martin Ariza Bosh Yao Their backups? Lowry Jermain taylor Jared Jeffries David Anderson /Chuck Hayes Brad Miller Mike Harris Still a great team giving all of that up to get Bosh and much better in my opinion.
I forgot to add we even gave them Scola in that deal too. Thats rediculous that they wouldnt want that deal over anyone elses. They would want Bosh to come here. Practically beg him for our deal.
This is a pretty stupid article. It basically says Raptors front-office is annoyed with Bosh for seeking free agency. OK, maybe. But then they would rather spite him and lose him for nothing? That's the most illogical decision making I have heard. There is no news here, just some writing for the sake of writing something.
Great job making your point. I think Toronto would be ecstatic to do that deal. Were I Morey, I think I might turn it down on general principles, but really, I think it would be a good deal.
Part of it could be the Raptors remembering they've went down this road before in the Vince Carter trade. They didnt receive much back. They traded Carter for for Eric Williams, Aaron Williams, Alonzo Mourning who they bought out, and 2 late first round picks (one which became Joey Graham, can't remember the other one). So they are DEFINITELY being more diligent about it THIS time. Raptors very well could just let Bosh walk without taking anything back. Though on this go-around there are actually younger, serviceable GOOD players on the table for the Raptors. Plus some expirings and a draft pick or 2. Bosh wanting to use the RAPTORS to help HIMSELF out means the Raptors can have a little say in things. Bosh is almost saying I WILL sign with Toronto, so Toronto trade me wherever you see fit after I get MY MONEY. Thank Chris Bosh's greed for keeping the Rockets in it
Here's Feigen commenting on this issue in the message board part of his blog. (As I mentioned in the blog last night and again a few answers ago, I was hearing mixed messages on the sign-and-trade possibilities. Those were not with the Rockets, who have the framework of a deal in place but have not been able to get a formal meeting with Bosh. I was hearing that the Raptors do not want to take on Luol Deng's contract, impacting their talks with the Bulls. There might be more than that, but since the Rockets are largely out of the picture, the media reports about problems in the sign-and-trade negotiations could be about the Raptors' talks with the teams Bosh is considering. -- Jonathan) http://blogs.chron.com/nba/2010/07/bosh_mixes_meetings_and_tweeti.html
Yep,I'm certain he will be traded to the team which makes the best offer. It doesn't necessarily have to be us.
If Bosh wants it to be, yeah. Those other teams mentioned for SnT I don't see them as a threat. Spurs- Tim Duncan, this is the biggest threat. But Bosh wants to play in a big market, the Spurs are not that. Although Bosh could slide in at PF and put Timmy at 5. Bosh has to worry though that the core around him is aging there, on top of it not being a big market. Cavs- According to the Media, Bosh has no interest in playing for Cleveland. Knicks- Okay...but if the Amar'e thing is true, where does Bosh fit in? Neither of those guys want to play center, and you will have major problems asking either to come off the bench. I think all this is just posturing, Toronto is making a big mistake if they are. You are not going to beat Morey by posturing, ask Walsh. Remember the whole thing right before the deadline about the Knicks were not that interested, that the Rockets wanted too much...we know who won that deal
Joey Graham, I believe, was a mid-teens pick. The fact that they made crappy picks isn't really a reflection that the trade is crappy, but their draft is crappy. I mean, out late first round picks and second round picks turn into Aaron Brooks, Carl Landry and Chase Budinger, etc. Maybe we can promise to help them with how to use the pcks on draft night.
Great post. I am really very concerned about the rumors that Scola is included in the snt with the Raptors. It would be one step forward and a step backwards at the same time. I think the Rockets are good to go if nothing happens with the Bosh circus, and, as you stated, the very near future is promising for the Rockets regardless.
Saw this a long time ago . Although it's weird how at the time, so many people believed Bosh would dictate all the terms.
Kind of sounds like Toronto likes the Rockets' offer and is not happy that Bosh is not even talking to us.
The Raptors are not happy, meaning they aren't happy with us, nor with anybody else's offer, or we aren't at the top of Bosh's list, and they're unhappy with who is. the thing about Deng has to do with Bosh being the second max contract that Chicago takes on. There is talk about Chicago being shut out altogether. If they don't get Wade or Lebron, they could sign Bosh for the max, but he'd miss out on his extra $30 million, because Chicago is extremely limited in doing a S&T; they have nobody to send back. Like I said before, maybe we should send Ariza plus whatever for Joachim Noah...
Toronto Raptors free-agent forward Chris Bosh went to his hometown of Dallas to rest and contemplate his free-agency options on Saturday after meetings with prospective teams, according to a source. The Raptors are still open-minded about the possibility of a sign-and-trade with their All-Star and have done extensive research on possible scenarios with each potential trade partner. The Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks, San Antonio Spurs, Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Lakers are among the teams in the luxury tax who have interest in a possible sign-and-trade for Bosh. On Bosh’s and Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade’s free-agency situations, their agent, Henry Thomas, said via text: “The guys are simply processing all of the info they have received over the past couple of days. Taking some time to take it all in.” – Marc J. Spears, 10:15 p.m. ET, July 3 http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=AihGF7LXI6uEHyH3fjAivPu8vLYF?slug=ys-freeagentbuzz070310
There arent no other teams in the sign and trade. There really is only one team serious and the rest inquiring. Rockets are the only serious team. These other teams are just asking and Rockets have a real offer. The only thing Toronto is doing is kiiling their chance to get anything back. Bosh will make his mind up before they do.
So according to the local paper, we aren't even in the picture? Makes sense I guess, since we didn't get a real meeting.
