While I agree with your sentiments about our team, I once went to Vegas for a weeks vacation but left in 3 days. Yep, I'm over the circus.

I'm over it because these guys KNOW what they want already and they know they can get it. So why in the f* do they play these games - to satisfy their huge egos...with no concern about teams or fans.

And personally, I don't want those egos on this team. Nothing good can come from it.

But you know, it's not about the team, or us. It's about the money. Hey, I got a idea. Lets start a new league for rich, bottom line owners where they get 1 superstar to play one-on-one against another owner's superstar.

Then for us fans who likes team play without million dollar egos, we restart the ABA with people who want to play instead of getting paid.

(okay, done with my daily rant)

This is the Raps playing their cards, they know now that Bosh REALLY wants all he can get and isn't going to take less to WIN. So they just tell him you will have to walk.

THIS IS GOOD NEWS FOR THE ROCKETS!!!! Not that I want him to come here anyway....I'd rather prefer a cheaper alternative to him OR Lebron, Durant, or Wade.

Here are the last several headlines from ESPN insider concerning Bosh....

1)Bosh wants to be the man

    2)Bosh mum on his future

    3)The Lebron Bosh combo

4)Bosh talking high of miami (so much for #2)

    5)Bosh agent denies chicago report

6)bosh reportedly leaving toronto (no *****)

    7)Bulls target bosh first

8)Bosh doesnt see trio in miami (there goes #3 and #4 out the window)

9)Bosh and the sign and trade (so much for #4)

10)Bosh likes the idea of playing with yao (hold the phones people...thats a major wrench in #'s 1 thru 5)

    11) Raps dont want Beasley

so...you see how this report by Adande will be overshadowed by the next dope that thinks he has a scoop....and so on....and so on....until he finally signs or gets signed and traded?

Oh...and If i didnt mention it already.....its always about the money!

That is a positive way of looking at it. Though i could see the same perspective if I was San Antonio or Dallas

But I agree that this is pretty much a ploy to get more out of a snt from the raptors front office. Heck if I were them i wouldnt be enamored with getting Ariza's contract, scola and picks from Houston, nor chicago's offer of cap release and picks, nor dallas' or san antonio's offer if they didnt include beaboius or splitter/Hill.

Personally I dont believe there is any real chance Lebron and Wade both go to chicago together. Aside from the alpha dog situation, the idea that BOTH marque 1 and 1a free agent not only leaving their own team but signing with the Bulls seems too impossible. Not to mention the fact that Wade and Lebron sort of make Derrick Rose obsolete... theres only one ball, and Wade/Lebron are both incredible playmakers. I'd still think they'd be a championship team though, just the mix seems strange.

Bottomline, until Bosh shows some modicum of interest in joining the rockets, we are like the Mavs, Spurs and a multitude of other the cap team... outside looking in.

No way anyone can convince me that Toronto wants to loose Bosh for nothing.

I really just think that Toronto is not impressed with the sign and trade offers from most of the teams that are offering one and they would rather let Bosh walk than to take back a bunch of crap that they don't want. If Houston offers some mix of Scola, Hill, Battier, Ariza, picks etc... Toronto will comply.

The other side is that there has been so much reported that Bosh will not take less than a Max deal with bird rights that Toronto might be calling his bluff to see if they can keep him in Toronto.

Totally agree with this blog post by Abbot... I dont think Toronto wants to take any extended contracts back, even of quality players like Deng or questionable & expensive prospects like Beasely. I think they jump all over cap relief, good young player on a good contract, a very good player and picks.

Like Bima i think the raptors want from Chicago, Noah and picks but know they arent getting Noah, so Taj gibson and picks.
Miami and Cleveland have little to offer asides from cap space and picks, though i'm guessing if Bosh settle on either, Toronto caves and trades him for picks.

Teams without cap space have less leverage against the raptors, so if i were them I'd want the following.
From Spurs, Hill and splitter as well as picks & expiring contracts to make it work.
From Mavs... Bebouis, Damps partially guranteed contract, picks (perhaps force them to take turkoglu)
From Rockets... Brooks, Patterson or Hill, Knicks picks, Battiers expiring...

I wouldnt be so sure. I've read other posters on this thread as well say that its simply posturing on the Raptors end, but I was reading the other day that most NBA teams werent profitable last year. Obviously, this is all speculation, but the Raptors might be content sitting with a lower team payroll and lesser talent while being profitable versus doing a sign-and-trade and getting more talent back but at a higher team payroll.

Sure that sounds good from the Rockets giving them. You trade out Brooks for Ariza and its a done deal. I dont want to give them Brooks. If we have to give them Ariza and Budinger plus the Knicks picks and Hill or Patterson. or both but not Brooks. id rather give them all of that other stuff and keep Brooks.

How about the Rockets give: Battier (buy out), Hill, Jeffries, Scola, NY Knicks picks (one or both, and if just one, we throw in our own first round pick), cash for the buy out of Battier.

The reason I say don't give up Brooks is because he would most likely be one of the main reasons why Bosh would come here.

Bosh has been extremely crass in his handling of this, but Toronto is bluffing. Not just because they'd get nothing in return, but also because it would hurt their reputation among NBA players, which could make it more difficult for them to sign future free agents.

From the rockets standpoint... YES, i totally agree with you. However, the rockets have no leverage against Toronto, UNLESS Bosh is adamant about the rockets or They get nothing better from Dallas, Spurs, Chicago etc. Either case is unlikely (IMO).

Think about it this way... if toronto is unwilling to take back Deng or Beasely, what makes you think they'd take Ariza and the 4 yrs left on his contract. Just for the sake of a knicks pick that'll probably be a late lottery pick (like this year) and an oppurtunity to swap NY picks. If im toronto dealing with teams with no cap space and bosh is willing to go to any of the three (mavs, spurs, rockets) I'd trade to the team that surrenders their promising young player (brooks, bebouis, hill/splitter) and am definitely NOT taking back any long term contracts.

    by IraHeatBeat via twitter. Feigen just retweeted this;

Agent Henry Thomas says Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh currently have no others meetings scheduled with teams.

So if the decision is truly based on Bosh and his money then we should know something pretty soon however if this is based on Wade/James, it might take a while.

Id give them Patterson, Hill, Scola, draft picks Knicks and Battier for Bosh. We can roll with Bosh, Hayes, Yao, and newly signed Miller as our front court. Id give them the whole frontcourt behind and beside Yao, plus the Knicks picks, and Battier, and they should be bowled over by the young talent of Hill and Patterson, plus the picks, plus Battiers expiring contract. They reallky should and I think it would really be worth it with Hayes already here, Brad Miller, Yao, and Bosh taking their place I dont see the down side in making this deal. i really dont. We would still be a better team.
