My guess is the Raptors are unhappy with how Bosh is handling the process - not enough communication? - and want to send him a message. 7 minutes ago via web http://twitter.com/bruce_arthur
i think its all posturing by Toronto to get the best deal possible for Bosh.....u dont let a free agent of that caliber go and get nothing in return (especially when u have nothing on ur team other than him). He is saying "apparently this or that" bc there have been no confirmed offers made public yet....he is assuming that a deal would have been done by now if there was an offer Toronto liked. You cant actually do ANYTHING until July 8 so for Adande to say that the well is already dry is jumping the gun. Im not concerned with this report
posturing from the raptors.... i still think the rockets make the most sense if he goes with a sign and trade.
who says Scola wants any part of a gutted Raptors team???? Scola is a FREE AGENT....i highly doubt that he is at the crux of the talks between the Raps and Rocks
Finally, something to get the deal going! Prepare for some fireworks! After July 4th of course.
Truth be told, I would have rather gone after Jefferson/Rubio then Bosh and I am not a Bosh hater or anything, I like Bosh and he would be great on this team, but I am a big fan of Rubio and think Jefferson could be great with the Rox.
I told you that by waiting on Bosh and his kindergarten like antics is ruining our chances at other deals. Especially when everyday it seems less likely that he will pick Houston. We are being played. Forget about this clown!!!
I second the motion. Rubio and Al Jeff would be sweet. You know who else i would like to see the Rox pursuing? Melo and CP3. Gravy!
Yeah i say give him no more press from us. We are just helping get his contract from another team. He is playing us to drive up the bargaining for his new team. Houston always gets played by free agents to leverage other deals from other teams. i am not helping them get press so he can get a deal elsewhere anymore. The deal was already here and if he wanted it he would take it already or start to get serious about talks about it. If he isnt by now? He is pulling our chains so he can use us as an example of a sign and trade team already offering a max deal at 6 years and i am not gonna help him get that deal elsewhere.
Good post... and I agree it is probably just posturing. Houston said Jeffries, Andersen and Hill plus our 2012 1st round pick and Toronto laughed and said forget it Bosh go get your on deal. Posturing just as you described. I would only all this posturing on Toronto's part doesn't mean Bosh is anymore interested in Houston than before. And my gut says 2 of the three elite FAs will end up Chicago and Bosh will probably one of the 2.
because the rest of the NBA didnt already know this? good thing we showed them all the blueprint for how to get bosh AND get him paid
Getting Jefferson from Minny is more than possible, but Rubio is another story. I don't think Minny would trade Rubio for anyone short of Lebron James... SMH All I can say is that Kahn is one stubborn douche bag! --RB
It could backfire if his fanbase starts to side with Toronto and the max sign and trade goes away for good.
Seriously though, this news affects the Bulls and Heat's plans more than it affects ours. They could only offer crap to get Bosh via S&T which complicater their plans of building a super team or pleasing Bosh with a juicy max contract. Think about it. Beasley? Deng? Crap! That's why Toronto started posturing.
I really don't understand why people are calling Bosh greedy or making a big deal out of the fact that getting a full six year max contract is more important to him than Lebron or Wade. Of course it is. How many times a day do you see Lebron's face on your television? How many times do you see Wade? LOTS. Because they make HUGE money on endorsements. Now how many times have you seen a commercial featuring Chris Bosh? Never. I've talked to casual basketball fans who don't even know who he is. So of course that money is more important to him. Really? Because it's been sooooooooooooooooooooooooo long. Free agency started on July 1st and it's already July 3rd! And, of course, not a single major free agent has signed a contract yet. Seriously, patience is a virtue. This guy is making a decision that is going to affect his life for the next five to six years and is going to have a great deal to do with what he accomplishes in his career and how he is remembered. You can't give the guy a week?
Kahn is capable of anything and the guy has to EVENTUALLY realize that RR is not going to play for his squad...at least I hope.
