Also Smith is the better player than Smith right now. Bosh isn't even suiting up, and I doubt he's in a rush to do so. He's not hungry anymore.

Agree! If all things were equal, I would rather have Chris Bosh over Josh Smith.

But all things are not equal. And Chris Bosh(at ~$20mil)+Parsons(at ~$15mil) is no where near as good as Smith (~$2mil)+Ariza(~$7mil)+Brewer(~$4.5mil)+Papa(~$4.5mil)

Yeah, stand in the corner. Wait for lebron to get doubled and shoot the wide open three. Pass to ray allen when he is open for three.

He is sooooo smart. He knows what it takes to win and thats why his team is doing so well in the east.

It would be bosh and parsons vs ariza, brewer, smith, terry, papanikalou.

I will take 3 and d ariza over parsons who never fit in next to harden. Plus he is half the salary.

I will take smith, brewer, terry, and pap who are all expirings while bosh is getting paid over 20 mil for the next 5 years. Riley got desperate. Morey was a little desperate after striking out with bosh and melo and lowry already signed.

I thought we would have had to renounce TJ, DMo, PatBev and others to swing the Bosh deal?

Isn't Bosh injured? And didn't he claim that part of the reason he didn't want to come to Houston is because of the pressure while Smith wanted to come BECAUSE of the pressure of being a main cog on a contender? I mean the question answers itself.

Yeah sign on a team with Lebron James and Dwayne Wade on it. I mean didn't the guy score ZERO points in a critical Game 7 in the NBA Finals? No wonder he was worried about pressure in Houston we would actually expect the guy to score a FG. People complain about Josh Smith taking 21 shots at least he hit one of the shots.

I really dont care who is the better play on paper and stats. I want a player whos going to win.

The issue is Bosh is not very good at closing out games @ 20 million. Nor does he want to be that person. This is why the Spurs are great; They don't over pay for talent that can't finish.

Smith is still up in the air. Bosh is clearly the better player. However at their market prices, I would probably pass on both.

Bosh is not clearly the better player for the rockets..what we were lacking is a tough physical big man not a cream puff like bosh...again I can't stand Chris bosh game and ugly face so I'm biased

I'm sorry, hate the man all you want but this is clearly Chris Bosh. He literally fills all of the holes we have. Lol @ some of these arguments - "he's not a finisher", "he's overpaid". We're paying James Harden to be our finisher, and it's not like Bosh hasn't shown himself capable of doing the same during many of the Heat's playoff runs.

As far as the money, he's shown that he's still a legit all-star. Those types of players don't come cheap.

If we had managed Bosh this offseason, a player who has shown himself dominant on and off the ball, we would have been gift wrapped a championship IMO.

What's the purpose of this thread anyways? We're damn lucky to have Smith, and this team is performing well so lets just hope for their continued health and success.

    Bosh >>>>>> Smith
    But
2mil and spending the rest of 21 mil on other good rotational playets is probably better overall

Bosh is much better, and would suit the team perfectly.

But i would prefer Smith, Ariza, Brewer, Terry and Kpap (and Dmo and Jones) over Bosh and Parsons!

Had we got Bosh, would have probably been in cap hell re flexibility, and doubtful we could add much more than min guys - def couldnt add Kpap and Terry, and would have had to shed Jones and Motie

Like other said, Bosh > Smith but 2M > 20M.

Man, the summer debacle was really a blessing in disguise. Imagine Parsons still being on this team trying to score points instead of focusing on defense. Imagine we did sign chris bosh and he didn't like having all that pressure and shrinking in the moment.

Who wants harden at $15 million when you can have Troy Daniels for the minimum! Am I doing it right?

Another poster asking if smith is better than Aldridge? Damn...

I don't even know why we are discussing contracts. Any idiot would agree that Smith for 2M is a far better value than Bosh for 20M. One is a waived player's transitional contract. The other is an open market value.

If you want to have any meaningful discussion comparing the two players, you should ask which player you would want to sign as fair open market FA.
