His contract is shorter so that he can sign a bigger max after year 6. It may also come with a player option year and a trade kicker to limit exit strategies if he doesn't work out. Is all that really worth the $5m/year discount to Bosh? And as much as I like Parsons, we didn't advance in the playoffs with him, Howard and Harden. Why do another season with the same team? Try Bosh and maybe it works better.
I recall you saying Taller Talent > Shorter Talent Bosh Howard and Scrub is still better than TJones Howard and Parsons LaMarcus WRECKED US Parsons wasn't exactly WINNING the SF spot . . . . at best he did not win enough to offset the beating at PF I think we worry because there are more ELITE PFs than SFs IMO Rocket River
9-time allstar? I'll take the proven commodity. Also just learned we share the same birthday, bring him in Morey we can do laser tag together next march. We are getting both anyways. I'm very excited for these next 3 days. <object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="//www.youtube.com/v/R8bCBIzhOO4?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="//www.youtube.com/v/R8bCBIzhOO4?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
Not really sure if that is a Morey only concept. All of the teams except the Spurs do the same thing. In addition, he did not trade CP.
You can have a team of all all-stars and still get beat. It comes down to team work, team ball, and team chemistry. Parsons IMO was one of the untouchables. Didn't think mchale or Morey would ever be ok with letting him go. This free agency has shown just how the rockets front office operates. A couple big names and suddenly they forget all the hard work you've out into the game for this team. Get paid parsons. These teams ain't loyal.
It will be a nightmare if parsons walks, we don't sign bosh or any other big name in free agency. But that's looking like a possibility now. You can't go full r****d.
Parsons, absolutely. For people who voted for Bosh, do you think Bosh is still a max player? is there any other team except Rockets to give him max contract?
We are talking about an All-Star that was a member of a team who went to the finals 4 years in a row. A team that won it 2 times in a row. We are talking about an All-Star who took a huge step-back for the better of a team when he is still capable of being an elite scorer. We need this All-Star because he fits perfectly. The opposite of Melo. There is a reason why we completely shifted to him and it's not just because Melo was a moon shot. He is perfect. I believe he is very intelligent as well and could play a role similar to what Duncan is in San Antonio. He needs to work on his ability to pass out of the post and we are looking at a serious contender for the next 4 years.
Bosh completely fixes the front court defense and is probably close to that of Parsons on offensive impact. Scrap SFs play better defense for their position on average than Jones.
Let's be honest. We shifted from melo because he wasn't interested. Although I agree bosh is a better fit for this team, it seems like the rockets are just trying to lure the girl with the biggest boobs. I mean who wasn't the rockets interested in free agency this off season? Maybe I'm bias because I really liked the team we assembled last season. Honestly just think that if we kept our core which includes parsons and just signed a good role player ie: deng, ariza for less money it would be better for our team. Not taking anything away from these big names in free agency. Just take a look at the spurs.
On a scale of 1-10, on who is worth their max contract, where 10 is lebron and 1 is rudy gay. If we considered Chandler a 1, Bosh would be a 12
I was never a BIG Advocate for Melo I thought he would help us win . . but he was not my first choice I did not think Bosh was an option . . until he became one Rocket River
