I disagree. Bynum better than Brooks and Landry please. Landry with less minutes is almsot a Bynum clone.
S&T is unrealistic he would simply walk for more money rather then sign something less just to be traded to an uncertain destination than figure in that S&T are 1/1 swaps nobody has the contract they would need for his amount.
I like your optimism but lets be honest here, Landry's secret is out. He is flat out better than Scola. Not to mention that he's making 3 mil next year (team option) and Scola as a free agent will make 6-8 mil. I think if we're to trade with Toronto by trading deadline, they'll ask for Landry as a starting piece. If though, they dont trade him in Feb, and we do a sign and trade in the offseason, only then can we bargain with them more, since they will know 100% that Bosh is leaving and anything they get is just compensation, not an actual talent for talent type trade they could do now. Then maybe we can substitute a resigned Scola + Battier / Ariza etc.
Considering they were a Kobe bomb away from being swept by Detroit, I don't remember that at all. Especially since they were arguably a Fisher (after the buzzer) 3 away from losing in the semis.
first game of the 07-08 season, tmacs first dunk of the season actually, on a backdoor pass by yao, looking at this picture honestly makes me a little sad
Toronto can offer Bosh the most amount of money because they have his bird rights. He wouldn't be getting less in a S&T, he'd be getting more. His new team wouldn't even need to match contracts if they were below the cap either, they would just create a trade exception ala Rashard Lewis to the Magic.
That would be the stupidest trade Toronto make if they send Bosh to the Lakers. Why make that team unbeatable when they are already good? What kind of stupid GM thinking is that?
People will quit watching the game. Why they'd favor it probably because the state is about to file bankruptcy and what better way to take money from players each year. In Texas you don't have that problem.
Doesn't matter. Bynum? It's all about trying to win the whole thing. How is Bynum make Raptors any better? Even if the Raptors make it to the final. They have zero chances against the Lakers. Kobe, Gasol, Bosh? Good luck to the rest of the other teams.
I think Toronto would jump on a package built around Brooks + Landry even if T-Mac's expiring isn't added on, but that seems like a hefty price to pay for the Rockets. Ideally, it would be good to only trade one of the two and probably Landry because we would need Brooks + Lowry to man the PG position. Why are the odds of Toronto accepting a package around Scola but without Brooks or Landry involved? Probably tougher because of Scola's age, but maybe we can make it exciting for them with a 3rd team involved that can use a more polished player like Scola and have the 3rd team send a young asset to Toronto. Maybe a contender/almost contender (i.e. Spurs?). And also, do you think Scola would mind giving up his starting job to Bosh? He has been very solid for us. But his personality is all about winning so I think he would be cool with it. But regardless of who leaves (except T-Mac and Cook), its going to be a sad goodbye. Scola, Landry, Brooks, Battier, Lowry, Hayes, and the rest of the gang have been amazing, super professional, and have made Rockets fans very proud of their work ethic and determination!
yeah but the lakers are trying to get something for him before he leaves next year and they end up getting nothing at all... I agree with you, that would be a horrible trade but at least they would get a decent big man to clog up the hole....they could also consider our deal, but i think they want specific pieces to make their team better, which i think would be either aaron brooks or carl landry (and i don't know if the rockets are willin to trade either or)
The only thing Toronto need to do is GET A NEW COACH THAT PREACHES DEFENSE. They have a good team but a terrible coach/coaching staffs.
Why not go after Jefferson and Bosh, big Al can man the center and Yao's cash cow is severely overarted. Atleast Jefferson is as young as Bosh and both play different positions. I got to thinking about this last night. Then i woke up and noticed an Jefferson article. The fact he will be moved is a small secret. They offered him up for Granger and Indiana rejected. It's in the leagues best interest to market their own players.
