Diaw has a fully unguaranteed 7.5M contract for next season if he is waived by July 15th. I see no reason for the Jazz to keep him at that price considering with Hayward gone they are better off using that cap space on younger players. Diaw isnt the player he once was at 35 but he maybe one of those bench fillers that could be had on the cheap who has thrived in an MDA offense before. The guy has never been a great defender but is still one of the smartest players in the front court and passers as well. He has range to help stretch the floor as well. Havent seen his name mentioned at all, but if he becomes available I think the Rockets should take a look at him as a vet min type signing.
Stop making threads for every single FA!!! It makes ppl think there's interest or an update of some kind..
I guess it's fun to speculate. I remember when Diaw was young and playing for that contract. Then he got paid, spent the summer back home in France inhaling cheese and baguettes, and came back running potholes into the basketball court. But he's always been a smart team player, awesome passer. Welcome to the GARM Early July Edition.
I wouldn't be opposed to a vet minimum contract but I would want to want until he is actually released and wouldn't trade for him. Imo headless useful than the NGs we have but serves the same purpose. He is more valuable to Utah tho than just cut him
Always been a huge fan of Diaw because of his IQ and passing ability. I wouldn't be opposed to a vet min deal later in FA if we are still looking thin in the front court.
