Overrated. I don't like his game. He's too unselfish. There are time he's wide open and didn't even want to shoot and rather pass it around.
He's not gonna leave SA. And he was trash before he got there, no reason he would be any good if he leaves
Yeah, I can't think of any time Diaw's ever been effective in an offense that was essentially run and shoot 3's.
I can't think of an offense that was essentially run and shoot 3's that ever won a championship. You need half-court operators to win anything. Diaw is a half-court operator. Once again, we could do a lot worse with the MLE. But realistically the Spurs are probably going to figure out how to re-sign him while simultaneously picking up Pau Gasol and trumping the WC next season ............................. again.
What makes you think that Boris Diaw can't work on the Rockets? He kept the Phoenix team good when Amare missed an entire year. He works well for San Antonio. And in Charlotte he help the team make its one and only playoff appearance in history before getting disgruntled with a deteriorating team that made the decision to tank. He has worked well for Mike D'Antoni, Alvin Gentry, Larry Brown and Popovich. He might not help much or be very motivated if he gets stuck on the Philadelphia Sixers or Sacramento Kings. But he will be a crucial piece on a 50+ win team like Houston.
Boris Diaw will teach McHale how to utilize Boris Diaw. Boris Diaw will also teach James Harden how to be an effective dominant fat defender. Boris Diaw is self-utilizing. You just put him on the court and he just wins.
Are there any Boris Diaw-Types out there? not Boris Diaw. . but Boris Diaw-types Can you imagine Howard with a Boris Diaw-Type?!?!! Rocket River
Channing Frye? 6.8M in 2014. UFA in 2015-16. Career 39% 3pt shooter Patrick Patterson? UFA. Still only 25. Increased 3pt % to 41%. Impressive but his 3pt% is all over the map year to year. Matt Bonner. UFA. 34, would be good for spot mins. Deadly 3pt shooter.
I've mentioned multiple times over the last year or so Jason Smith. He's coming off an injury so he will most likely go for the minimum. He's almost 7 foot tall. Alligator arms. But great shooter, tremendous basketball iq, great floor vision and passing instincts. And he's got a little nasty in him defensively. I think he'd be a better fit alongside Dwight than anybody we have on this roster right now not named Omer Asik. Here is Smith just slightly "neutralizing" Kevin Love a couple seasons ago. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/gLFIKciS6fE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
No thanks. Boris Diaw plays within a team system where moving and passing the ball is top priority. In Houston, they just play 1v1 isolation ball, Diaw wouldn't be at his best.
