Picked it up yesterday for $22 on PC. Wasn't going to get this game, but for $22 I couldn't pass it up. Wasn't a big fan of the first one, enjoying this one so far though.
Wow, really? I can hardly imagine not being a big fan of the first one. I know people who basically don't play video games at all but make an exception just for Borderlands. To each his own. BTW, I've now maxed out a solo Gunzerker... playing with different teams of friends for the other three characters. Definitely a good time. I've started a second Maya to solo now that the Gunzerker's maxed. One thing, though... I had very mixed feelings today when I picked up a legendary/orange shield called "The Bee" which is so OPed that it totally breaks the game. I think I'm going to have to resolve to stick it in my stash and not use it. Why Gearbox would create such an obviously broken item kinda baffles me.

Finished the first run through last night/this morning. Last fight was actually kinda easy, but impressive in scope. Epic looking and REAL busy, but my Axton and his dual turrets kept things under control pretty easily. BTW when you go in to the final fight (you will DEFINITELY know it when you see it) go in with your backpack as empty as possible. You will be richly rewarded when it's over with higher level stuff to keep or sell. All told, it's a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to the DLC and the Mechromancer. Guess I'll run through the creature domes then it's off to True Vault Hunter mode. Anybody wants to run let me know on the 360 at Gunslinger57.
Eh, I think I'm going to keep it for doing Warrior and Terramorphous runs. But if you want one you just have to keep killing one particular enemy late in the game until he drops it, a guy running a radio station.
BTW, apropos of this, here's a page detailing the "locations" of legendary weapons. Unlike in Borderlands 1, there seem to be a lot of legendary weapons that will only drop from certain enemies/bosses. http://www.realsg.com/2012/09/guide-borderlands-2-unique-and.html Now that I'm lvl 50 I have to start looking for some of these, since at lvl 50 they're as good as they're going to get (until DLC raises the level cap, anyway).

I'm a level 35 Assasin and having to keep resetting the Ore Chasm level 4 run. I get so close and then one of those Badass Robots kills me. I do have a level 26 Orange Shotgun that i won from Moxxies slot machines. It's kinda useless now because the same slot gave me a 31 lvl Purple Shotgun when I hit three Marcus's.
Join the steam group in my signature to find others online. I'm only level 10 or so. Bought it just the other day and haven't played too much yet.
So i beat it on TVHM and thought I would spend the weekend farming Legendary gear before taking on Terra and Venamorphous. The drop rate for The Warrior is infuriating. 40 runs and not a single Orange. The only level 50 orange I got was from beating him the first time. Logans Gun.
I haven't done any Warrior runs, but I did get an orange item the first time I fought him on normal, a really good lvl 30 shield. Nothing when I fought him on TVHM. But I have made quite a number of Terramorphous runs and the drop rate is indeed disappointing. He always drops an orange "Hide of Terramorphous" class mod, but other than those I've seen no oranges from him at all in 8-10 runs. Still, I've gotten a fair number of oranges already... at least eight that I can think of. Although keep in mind that I have like seven different characters going all at different stages to stay equal with some of my multiplayer friends...

At first I was confused because I clearly remember the date being next week, but now I'm googling it and finding that they just announced today that it's here a week earlier than expected. Cool. I don't play a lot of games but this game looks interesting. Is it anything like the Fallout series? I really like those. Is the game still enjoyable without playing multiplayer?
It's more like Diablo: the shooter; the setting is close to Fallout however. I've played most of the game solo, and a bit with friends. It's definitely enjoyable solo; you do get better loot and experience with a group though.
