hopefully this lures lebron to chicago.

rose, james, & boozer would be nasty

lebron going to new york would just ruin our picks and make morey seem less like a hoss

Yeah but does Lebron wants to play with Boozer again after what he did to Cleveland?

Seems to me Lebron isn't heading to Chicago if they sign Boozer.

If he can stay healthy, seems like a good signing for the Bulls. Still, you got to wonder if David Lee wouldn't have been the better option at the same price. I guess the thinking is that Boozer is more of a go to low post scorer and Lee is more of a cleanup guy low post scorer, which Noah already does somewhat. I think that is mostly true, though Lee is better than some think (i.e. - his 20 ppg doesn't just come off offensive rebounds and fast break dunks).

Utah is worse, no matter how you look at it. Not counting them out, cause you never should, and they do have Milsap and a serviceable Fesenko, but they are worse. Conversely...for the long-run, they are probably better off not having Boozer stay on their cap because as we all know, their team as was assembled wasn't going to win a championship, and if they just let AK47 expire, this puts them in the FA game next season. Or as someone else mentioned, they can move AK47 for some pieces at the trade deadline, as he is quite a nice, large expiring.

So not as devastating to the Jazz as it could be, but for next year, they are definitely worse.

I think this only makes the Bulls as good as the Jazz were.

Utah with Boozer had a stellar PG in Williams (probably a tad better than Rose). I would say Okur and co. are better than Chicago's current role players.

If Chicago doesn't sign anybody, they are essentially the Jazz 1.5 without the ugly.

Keep in mind that they still have about $15 million left to spend on free agents. A Ray Allen here and/or a Brendan Haywood there and I would certainly put them in the Top 4 in the East.

    Noah/Haywood
    Boozer/Gibson
    Deng
    Allen
    Rose

    That's a pretty solid 7-deep core.

Would Haywood settle for the bench?

Making $8 million a year? I'm sure he wouldn't mind.

I think the Knicks, Bulls, and Heat becoming so good will finally shift the balance of power from the Western conference to the East

Now we can't say that our wins were in the tough Western conference anymore; now we're gonna have the burden of higher expectations

I think we have a shot at home court advantage with a healthy Yao next year and no splashes

Let those teams fight eachother for ONE chance to represent the East in the Finals. If any of these free agents were smart, they would have tried to look at a team in the Western conference. I, mean, what's the point of meeting one another in the ECF when they could fight eachother to the death in the NBA Finals?
