Other than the millions, Boozer is the big loser here

Utah is sOOooOOo bored life wise.
He gonna bang againtst the bigger PF in the West.
How can you leave Lebron who is going to put you on national televised games.

    Good things

Great coaching (cleveland has good coaching too)
    Good young supporting cast
He's hella rich (but would have been rich ne ways)

All of a sudden, the Jazz look pretty strong...

    PG Arroyo
    SG Harpring
    SF Kirilenko
    PF Boozer
    C Okur

    COACH: SLOAN

Will these guys ever finally go down and become the worst team in the NBA!?!

Damn!!!! Kirilenko and Boozer, that's about as good at SF/PF as it can get!

Who knows what really was said and happened, but if in fact that is the case, I think Boozer made a serious sacrifice in integrity. Money is money and it can help a lot of people, but that would be pretty lame and I'd feel incredibly stupid and cheated right now if I was Cleveland.

68 million reasons. He was a SECOND ROUND pick that was projected to amount to little, if any, success in the NBA at all. I'd take that money and run too. AND, its not like he's a bad player nor is he signing with a bad team.

Actually, this would be great for the Rockets. They could trade a portion of the TE for Battie (who went to college at Texas Tech). In its attempt to get further under the cap, Cavs might be forced into deals like this. Go for it, CD! Quickly, before the Cavs realize they won't get far enough under the cap to match!!!

P.S. Boozer, who I have loved as a player since his freshman year at Duke, is a PUNK if he truly had a handshake deal with Jim Paxson to re-sign with Cleveland for the MLE. It was really nice of the Cavs to let him out of his crappy second-round pick contract to get an earlier payday, and Boozer has gone and stabbed them in the back.

    Hmmm..

    Okur/Tags
    Boozer/Collins
    Kirilenko/Harpring
    Giricek/Bell
    Arroyo/Lopez

That's not bad. What else do they need? I think that's it.

Ah from the high of reeling hometown boy Lebron in to disgrace in about a year. I still feel a little sorry for Paxon here.

    I agree with Clutch, BUT:

Cleveland needs a power forward now! Let's make a deal with them!

Mo Taylor for Wagner, Ollie, and Diop! :)

don't tell me that you don't think they need anything else....they still won't win the championship next year. that alone tells you they need something.

Let's hope CD is watching this closely, so he'll know how NOT to handle the YM situation.

Battie has two years left at 4.8M, 5.2M. He would be a good trade for the TE and an excellent backup for Yao. That would push Cleveland well under the cap to match this Utah offer. We might have to include a straight swap of a short contract (Pike 2.7M - 2 years left) for a longer contract (Ira Newble or Kevin Ollie 2.7M for 4 years) but I hope not.

That's what happens when you have several bloated contracts.

I think Cleveland is going to trade and match the offer to Boozer. I can't imagine Boozer doing this unless he had already worked it out with Paxson and Paxson agreed to it. There must already be a deal on the table for the Cavs to get our TE or to get cap space from somewhere. Can't believe that Boozer and his agent would just sign the offer without honoring their word. Of course, I'm pretty naive.

Look at each postion, they are one or two notches below ours except for the PG position, and PF maybe equal. We are going to sweep them this year.

If the cavs somehow trade with us for the TE, would it give them enough cap space to match Utah's offer?
If so we're in a really good position right now. We could either try to get Battie + draft pick from the cavs (i really like this trade) or we could ask Utah if they would be willing to trade maybe Arroyo to us and we promise not to give the cavs the TE (a little farfetched maybe).
