I can't wait to hear Boozers press conference. When some reporter asks him about the deal, what is he gonna say?

i better not hear "It's not about the money"

Yes, an excellent article. Thomsen explains the point I was trying to get across earlier a lot better than I could.

I agree with Raven that it'd be sweet for Cleveland to match and then trade him. But I wouldn't want him to go to the Lakers. I'd love to see the Jazz get the shaft and for Boozer to have to play for some other lousy team. Maybe we can help the Cavs out with our TE and get something out of the deal. Utah, Boozer and his agent can go to the devil.

    You're pretty much spot on.

If a team exercises the ROFR, it can't trade the player to the team that signed the offer sheet for one year. In addition, the player has a no-trade clause- he doesn't have to give his team a list of teams he would accept to trade, but he can consent to a trade if he so chooses.

Any free agent, restricted or not, can not be traded until December 15. Forget about Boozer trade possibilities.

Phoenix is definatley in. Denver is out (unless they get Kenyon). Utah battles Memphis for the last spot.

Comments from Kenny Thomas when asked about the Boozer fiasco:

    "Man, **** Boozer".

So much for helping the Cavs match and trade Boozer to an NBDL team! ;)

    28 million dollars.

people kill family members for far less than that.

    28 million dollars!

I'm not saying it's cool that he's lied, but I've never heard of a handshake before that was worth losing 28 million dollars over.

Good article from SI. It's hard to find a real piece of journalism nowadays. No doubt Boozer and his agent backed stabbed the Cavs, for their own interests. But I still think Paxson is to share the most of the blame. He obviously had no clue Cavs offer of MLE is so off Boozer's market value. You never hear anything from Cavs about signing Boozer for a more fair contract. So they tried to sign at much cheaper price and now they are the ones got the shaft.

Jim Paxon got served and Leo Durocher was right "Nice guys finish last". Jim Paxson will now always remember a passage from the Sun Tzu's "Art of War".

"It is the business of a general to be serene and inscrutable, impartial and self-controlled."

    Should of exercised the option.

to those that think the money is worth breaking your word, I have one thing to say.

    Pathetic.

One of the marks of a real man is his word....you give your word...you keep your word.

Money should never come before integrity.

If that were the case NO NBA star would be playing.

Hello, it's ALL about the money.......

I'm not saying it's right...but before people start throwing stones at Boozer they must realize a lot of NBA players are exactly like him.

I dont think it is fair to say Im throwing stones...this is actually the first I have said about it...and even then...I was making a more general observation about the state of kids today that they believe that money is a good excuse for taking your integrity and flushing it down the crapper.(there...that was a stone ;) )

I was raised to believe that there are more important things than money....a man's integrity and honor are worth way way way more to me than a sh*tload of money gotten by screwing someone else.

You know what is really funny about this whole thing? So many people are apt to attack Boozer, yet not one person has heard HIS side of the story.

Maybe there was a HUGE misunderstanding between the two...I've heard rumors that the Cavs TOLD Boozer they'd move some of their cap around to fit a larger contract, when he saw they weren't....that was when he bolted.

Speculation? Sure. But until people actually hear what Boozer has to say, I think they should reattach his head, sit back and relax.

Of course that above statement wasn't targeted toward you.

I do agree about reserving judgement till the facts are known....thats why I didnt participate in the bashing of Calvin or Eddie....until we know fully waht the facts are in those cses, it is hardly fair to be crucifying them publicly.

but I realize that Im in the minority as far as things like that go...oh well...so be it.

Sorry for bumping, but I have to add this.

Some people seriously underestimated the intelligence of a NBA owner and a NBA GM who are in the business world their whole life.

If as some people said, Boozer proposed this to them, they the agreed to it out of the goodness? They were really that innocent? They must have thought of the possibility of Boozer backing out of this word. But out of the selfishness of saving some money, they took a calculated gamble. They failed. They had no one to blame but themselves.

It's funny how you bring up all these things you "heard" without any credible source, just to justify what Boozer and his agent did...
