My team would not be screwed over because I would have done the due dilligence necessary to see that Carlos would be getting massive offers elsewhere, and thus would never have exposed him. But that is just me, I protect my interests...... DD
Im talking about as a fan, not a team owner. Don't tell me you wouldn't think less of a player who left and went back on his word to do so.
Lord, Please never put me in a situation where I have to do business with DaDakota or a person like him. Thanks... dylan
Its because we are on opposite ends of the spectrum as far as fans go and what you want out of your teams.
Dylan, When you are doing small deals handshakes are often all you need. But when deals reach into the millions, and the ones I work on do....every I has to be dotted and every T crossed. There are sharks out there and I deal with them on a day to day basis. I don't lie...but I do negotiate !! DD
Actually, I deal with people coming in to my office all the time who have gotten better deals, some of them that had told me they would stay for less. However, in each case, I tell them to take the deal that they want the most. Treat themselves like an individual contractor, and make the best decision for them. I just lost a great employee because he took a better deal. I would love for him to have stayed on, but he took the best deal for him and his family. How can I fault him for that? DD
Originally, I said... Then, you replied to my quote by saying... and So, I say, again, thanks for restating my original statement. The Cavs arent going after Boozer now, because regardless of the decision they make, they are losing players. If they could get Boozer without giving up other players, they would...plain and simple.
Statement from Gund: His reason for not matching Boozer is not because Boozer was a backstabber or a bad client. His reason is because the loss of key players will inhibit their progress even if they get Boozer back.
Yet, you left out a key part of my post: "They could easily dump off Battie/Williams for cap space, match Boozer's offer and/or force a S&T with Utah and get some sort of compenstation in return." If you think theyd rather lose Boozer for nothing, instead of guys like Battie and Williams (while getting some compensation in return from Utah or whomever), you are being intellectually dishonest with yourself. So, I say, again, sorry that you didn't understand my response. Oh. You're welcome too.
Honestly I don't think you get this at all. Lying's good, lying's not good, Boozer lied, Boozer didn't lie, unethical? Who cares!!! To be at this stage of the thread and compare to us what Carlos Boozer did here to an everyday employee working at a company who left to go somewhere else... All I can say is there is no hope for you in this discussion.
Well, just read the Owner's reasoning...its his word, not mine. Oh, and thanks again. I appreciate it.
Have you ever made a post at night and then woke up the next mourning thinking why the hell did I post that? Again without sounding like such an ass, All I was trying to say is that the Cavs as an organization should never have let Boozer out of his contract on a SPOKEN word As far as the Cavs trying to do Boozer a favor by giving him more money a year sooner. He was making $700,000 dollars. Put that next to your salary and tell me you could not live on $700,000. There is no reason he could not wait another year. The way I see it, as a person, if I screw something up, I blame my self for anything that happens as a result of my screw up. I know not many people are like that but thats just me.
Have you ever heard of spin? Do you really think that Cleveland values guys like Battie/Williams over Boozer??? Cleveland is washing their hands of this situation based on ethics. They could work out deals, and be close to whole, yet, would only piss players and teams off in the process. You're welcome again.
