He said he isn't a Yao ming type of player, he said he isn't a true "superstar" like Yao is. It got misconstrued because they made it seem like he was attacking West. A reporter made a statement about them only beating the Hornets w/o West, he retorted with that statement showing that they were playing w/o a much better player. Nothing he said was stupid, it was actually all right.
It isn't a big deal and players say that all the time. In the 1991 NBA Finals, when the Lakers and Bulls split the first two games in Chicago, one of the Lakers players said the series wasn't going back to Chicago. He was right because the Bulls defense choked the living daylights out of the Lakers who lost the last 3 games at home. The Pistons did the same thing to the Blazers the year before. Overconfident Blazers fans openly gloated about not going back to Detroit because the Pistons hadn't won in Portland in ages.
Obviously it's a big deal because you just pointed out situations where players made those predictions and then their teams lost the series.
Sir Jackie Chiles you are correct boozer is quite ugly. i think he is a mix between a pimple and an ape
How long have you been a Rockets fan? I'm only 16, and I knew it was Barkely show said that. History lesson 101 my friend .
Barkley>>>>Boozer (obviously), but this is eerily familar to Barkley talking noise after his team went up 2-0 on the Rockets. I hope it stays that way! As an aside, is it just me or has Boozer been a complete non-factor in this series so far?
Here's the quote from the Chron: No return trip for Boozer As Carlos Boozer ran triumphantly off the Toyota Center floor on Monday night, he shouted, "We're not coming back to Houston!" No return trip would require Utah to complete a sweep of the Rockets. "I was talking to my teammates," Boozer said. "That's our goal. We don't want to go back." His teammates were more cautious. "You never say never," Matt Harpring said. "It would be nice not to go back to Houston, but you've got to win two more." http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/5722820.html
i think you guys are misunderstanding the title boozer says the series is not coming back to houston meaning that houston will not tie the series at 2-2, the 5th game will still be at houston because of homecourt advant.....
Nice, TNT made it out to be more than it is. Boozer said they didnt want to go back. Not that they werent going back. BIG difference.
no, Boozer did say "We're NOT coming back." when asked to explain the statement he said he was only talking to his teammates and didn't WANT to come back.
We're not misunderstanding anything. He said this when they were up 2-0 in the series assuming they were going to sweet.
