Boozer has had 2 injuries that I can recall. He missed the beginning of his freshman year with a broken bone in his foot, I think. What was his injury last year? I've forgotten.

The guard you're thinking of is Daniel Ewing-- from the Houston area, no less. I'm not sure about Duhon, but Dahntay Jones looks like a player.

That's a heckuva lot of talent inside the Durham city limits!

I'm thinking that IN THE PROS where defense is more about strength than it is in college, Boozer will be a more effective defensive player.

And he won't be the only low-post presence. And he can run the floor. And he shoots 76% from the line.

Yep, that's him, Ewing is the guys name. It the very little I have seen him, he looked more gifted than any of the Dukies outside of JW.

I think Boozer is a good player with good skills, I just wouldn't use a lotto on him. Wouldn't use a lotto on Dunleavy either until he can prove he carry a college team by himself (maybe next year). There are lots of outstanding college players I wouldn't use a lotto on.

I don't remember for sure but Boozer had another leg problem last year (hammy? groin? twisted ankle?). I disagree that speed and quickness are less important defensively for 4/5's in the pros if that is what you were getting at. A couple of slow strong guys were good defenders (Laimbeer, Oakley, Mr Mean)--but I don't see any of that kind of nasty tude in Boozer. Boozer I think will have the Mo Tay, Melivin Turpin, Tractor Traylor caliber low post defensive skills. If you could blend Boozer's hands, feet and coordination with Adonal Foyles thighs, IQ and arms you would have quite a player. But alas, Folyes hands and feet are rocks and Boozer can't get off the groud and reach quick enough to block 6'7" college stiffs' shots.
