ya big deal Yao owned Boozer game one and two and Boozer just owned Yao game 5. Umm well not exactly owned cause Yao totally dominated Boozer game one and two. Boozer basically just upped his play in game 5 and scored more points on Yao this time. Yao's shot was off and his lateral speed is slow. Again, this is nothing new that we didn't know about. Lateral Speed translates to Great Defense and Offensive Moves. Yao doesn't have the lateral footspeed.

Boozer's 1-on-1 game and overall skills are more diverse than Amare's. When Amare gets a jab-step fadeaway like Boozer's, a lefty finish like Boozer's, he'll eat Yao alive on a regular basis, too.

I watched the game and the numbers and I saw Yao hitting the big shots down the stretch and and then closing out the game.

Come on, he is 7'6 footer, he is slow, boozer is faster than him, that's the fact.

So you are saying what Yao did tonight is acceptable? You realize we still have to win 1 more game right? If Yao keeps playing like this on the defensive end, it's going to be tough to win.

Although Yao's D was somewhat suspect, I must say that it looks like he stepped it up a notch in the sense that he was still able to contribute in an "off game" for him. 21/15. If you told me he had those numbers when I was watching the game, I would have said you're lying.

Boozer dominates Yao, that's right. Why?

Well, Boozer is wuicker tha Yao, He can drive to the basket fastest and in that type sytuation Yao fouls him...

We do not double-team Boozer (maybe sometimes) but look what happens when
Yao gets the ball. There are 2 defenders behind him and he turns the ball over

Yao is moving as an old grandma :D

yao was pretty good in the second quater, kept us alive.

yao has to guard boozer, because he has to stay in the paint. hayes might be better guarding boozer, but he cannot do the followings as good as yao:
    box out
    block
    alter shoot

Come on, Boozer is their PF. Yao guarding him is a mismatch already.
I know Yao sucks tonight. But it's not his fault that he is in this position.

some of you guys are stubborn

its not about who's better, we all know who's better (Yao)

but this matchup is not in our favor..Boozer seems to know his way around yao and gets alot of easy opportunities..we have to change this matchup in the next game or yao has to find someway to guard him efficiently

No I'm saying scoreboard. You do realize we won the game right? If Boozer is so great why is his team down 3 games to 2?

YAO just needs to watch his own video and learn how he guarded Amare two years ago, who is much more athletic than boozer

Well since Boozer is a Power Forward, just why is Yao guarding him???? Okur is the Center and Yao should be on Okur. Only problem is Okur is playing the high post and if Yao played D on Okur Yao would be pulled really far off the lane thus allowing opposing players to drive. Yao is going to stay in the post defensively. He's too slow to guard players out high. What you really need is beter help defense. Your own Power Forward should be stopping Boozer. If Boozer gets past his man then Yao is the last option. If Yao can't stop Boozer then it's because the first guy didn't do his job. So why aren't we bashing Juwan Howard's defense on Boozer??

Hayes has to defend Okur, so Boozer is still Yao's man, unless you want Yao to defend Okur. Do you want that? I guess no one want Yao to go out to 3 point line to chase Okur. If Yao can't defend Boozer, nor can he defend Okur, he must guard someone, go figure.

Yao's "defense" was pathetic tonight. He's supposed to be our franchise player, you can't just have lapses in big games like he has. Can you remember Hakeem ever looking like a liability in any game of significance? Yao deserves all the criticism that comes his way IMO.

If we want an early summer we should put Yao on Okur. That way we have our 7'6" center hanging around the 3 point line so that all 4 of the other Jazz players are between him and the basket and can attack our undersized 6'6 power forward with absolutely no resistance. We have to keep Yao on Boozer because we need Yao to take up some room down low and hopefully prevent the jazz from doing more slashing and setting up than they already do. Yao on Okur = huge mistake

I watched the game. Yes, Yao was getting beat on many plays because his lack of speed, but again, I won't called that getting "dominated". Yao worked hard on the glass, and hit the crucial ft at the end.

athleticism is only part of it. dwight howard is more athletic than boozer, but he doesn't give yao much trouble. why? because d-ho skills aren't anywhere near boozer's. all yao has to do is wait in the paint for d-ho to try to dunk. boozer, on the other hand, has all kinds of ways to score.
