Chuck Hayes should be guarding Boozer.

Notice Okur who guards Yao can't score because he expends all his energy playing defense.

    Yao should guard Okur.

Boozer is a skilled 6'9'' PF and much quicker than Yao, it's not suprising he could score well on Yao. Just like it's not suprising that Allen Iverson can score well on a good defender in Battier.

Juwan and Chuck, as far as man D goes, are better matchups against Boozer. When Yao is in there, however, he needs help cutting off Boozer's drives if he's going to try and challenge Boozer's Js. The Rockets helped fairly well for parts of the game, but really need to stay disciplined or else Sloan's offense will get layups with cutter.

If the Rockets can't effectively play help D on Boozer, it's probably better to give him the J instead of trying to challenge him and risking the layup.

Yet he outscored Yao by 5 and Yao outrebounded him by 7...such domination. Oh, and we won.

seriously. we just won the biggest game of the year so far for us and people start riding on a guy who grabbed 15 boards and hit a big shot and 2 key FTs for us?

Did you watch the game or did you just watch the scoreboard?

I'll ask again: Do any of you people who said Boozer was weak and sorry after game 1 feel foolish now? C'mon, fess up! I'll admit to underestimating him some because he bounced back even more than I expected, mainly because his outside is better than I've ever seen. With that kind of jumpshot Boozer is equal to Elton Brand. In addition, I've never ever seen him play this kind of defense. He isn't great at it but his effort is A+.

I criticized Yao as much as the next guy in the game thread but making a separate thread about it?

What's important is that we won the game.

Not just Booze, but their little guards were going around him for layups as well. And I think it was Milsap who outrebounded him a few times and mananged to stuff his shot 1 ft away from the ring. Even though the foul was called, Yao should have taken the guy through the ring, if you have nearly a foot in height advantage.

Hayes would also be in foul trouble the whole game guarding only Boozer.

He's been terrible on D the last three games. It looks like he's running with a piano on his back. High school kids could score on Yao right now, something is physically wrong with him.

if you only watch numbers, instead of the game, you could draw this conclusion.

Who hit the game clinching FTs again: Yao or Boozer?
