Have you looked into the joys of Valium or Xanax? Really! The Jazz system and deep bench have "dominated" Yao. He's not playing against a traditional center, but against a very deep and long Jazz team who play great defense. Boozer is the very best of them, but it is not Boozer alone who is wearing Yao out. If anything, you should b**** at Sloan, the evil b*stard.
Boozer is playing great for sure, even Yao admit it.. I dont think this tread is harmfull, if we all in positive way.. who know we might find some tips or at least some outside analyse to Yao for a better play..come on fans!
I think most people in this thread understand that Yao is being asked to do something he just can't do by himself. He is guarding a different position on defense, and not only that the player Yao is guarding happens to be the Jazz best player. For the few who seem upset at Yao because he can't contain Boozer think about what it is you are asking of Yao. On offense it would be like asking Yao to run the point, bring the ball up the court, and set the plays. Then when he turns the ball over most positions, people jump on him and say that he just isn't that good. Like Deckard said Yao isn't guarding a traditional Center. It is like he's guarding out of position, but the way the Jazz play that is what the match ups give us.
two more things I want to add before I permanently excuse myself from this thread Yao only has to face Boozer once more before Boozer goes home for the season. and Im leaning towards wishing anyone that uses a label that involves any combination of *OH, or *OF should be immediately banned and forced to live in Utah. ok, I know I said two, but I gotta give props to a guy I havent seen enough of inthis forum till now....RoxMill....fighting the good fight. Rock on bro. oh yea One more thing SCOREBOARD!!!!
I'll say it again. Yao does his damage defensively in the paint. If you take him outside the paint, he's not nearly as effective. If Boozer wants to take Yao outside, Yao should not follow him. He needs to stay in the paint, period. If Boozer keeps making his jumpers, you tip your cap. That's all you can do. Great PF's will always do well against us because we don't have a big, lengthy, athletic PF of our own to stop him. Guys like Duncan and Elton Brand always have a field day against us. Now, you can add Boozer to that list. We're not physically capable of stopping all-star PFs, but what you can do is take away a portion of their game. We have Yao, THE BEST paint defender in the NBA. If Yao is in the paint, even the star PFs can not score inside. Let them take their jumpers and fade-aways. If they make their shots, tip your cap. But allowing them to cut to the basket to get layups, allowing alley-oop dunks, and allowing them to drive to the whole and finish is UNACCEPTABLE considering how good Yao is defensively in the paint. He needs to stay there. If you think our defense is good now, imagine how good it would be if there wasn't a three second defensive violation rule.
[ You need to ease up on your unhealthy obsession with Yao and return his underwear to his house before he finds out you took it.
this line had me laugh and spit my drink out....
Excellent post, time to stop *OF *OH labels. No one has the right to attack other Rockets fans with this kind of cheap shot.
Stupid comments like these should get a ban. this line had me laugh and spit my drink out....
Your summary pretty much did it. Now time to lock this stupid thread and enjoy Game 6, when Yao will show Utah what he's made of.
Our "fans" were screaming at Yao??? What kind of fans does Houston have now? against the home team's star player? Sucks.
You're a troll. Admit it. Stop making these laughable idiotic posts, and it might help you escape your mental hospital.
Rockets would lose most of the overseas fans and all of them became Jazz fans counting from the trade day
Are you kidding me? We musn't trade 7-6 dominate center. I do not like Yao vey much, bat he should stay in Houston
No need to get worked up by this pryuen guy. He jumped on me when I critisized Yao on the yaomania board a couple years ago. He obviously doesn't have much of a clue about BBall - the game v.s. BBall - Yao's profession. I'll give him credit for translating Yao articles from Chinese media but his BBall knowledge stops there. As a Chinese Canadian I'm a big fan of Yao, but I've also been playing BBall and watching NBA for a long time. MJ's Bulls and Hakeem's Rox have been my all time fav so far, and I hated Jazz since I was a 6th grader and I take great joy seeing MJ and later Billup & Co. made sure Malone didn't get a ring in his career Sorry about being off the topic - this Boozer dominates Yao business is not even worth debating. Stats aside, Boozer is the biggest mismatch in this series so of course he'll get his points. It's an obvious fact that Yao can't guard Boozer 1-on-1. Help must come from weak side when he gets by Yao, and Yao needs to rough him up a bit on his jumpshots - i mean play closer and trust help defense will come if Boozer drives pass him. Having said all that, Boozer can't decide the series by himself - much like T-Mac and Yao can't win the series all by themselves. Role players must sink open J's and DWill must be stopped from getting in the lane and creat easy shots for other Jazzs, who are very very good shooter - man I wish Rox has that Giricek guy (i'll learn how to spell his name after he comes to the Rox). BTW, did you guys watch the Dallas-GS series? Baron Davis is dominating the whole Dallas team - That's real domination. The guy just drives and lays it up like he's the only guy on the court. Honestly I don't think Rox will have a chance against the GS - BD is just too strong for Rafer & Head combined and he'll get Yao in foul trouble 2 minutes into the game. That's a bigger mismatch than the Boozer-Yao matchup.
