Dont forget Boozer save a lot of energy on defense end.

If Sloan let him defending Yao, his jump shot wont be effective as he has shown so far.

So which posters are not actual Rockets fans because of their poor English skills? Has your tiny brain identified everyone of them already.

JVG should put someone else on Boozer instead...like Hayes or Battier. But then who would Yao end up guarding....?

I"m with you on this one. Only not the entire game. Just a few sets to throw off the Utah rhythm. We need to play a few zone sets too. Why not?

Rockets have GOT to double boozer. The reason he owns Yao is because Yao doesn't touch him at all for fear of getting a foul. There was a reason Chuck was able to disrupt him when he was on him...... it was because he put a body on him and Boozer couldn't get a straight wide open jumper.

Yao shouldn't be guarding boozer - he guards boozer because there's no one else on the Jazz who plays inside. Okur would just pull Yao out, and everyone else on the Jazz is too quick. So the only way Yao can be in the game is to guard milsap or boozer.

Hopefully, Yao will figure out how to play against Okur before thursday.

No.1 Tracy is a great player and he played great today but we need both of our stars to carry us thru the playoffs. Wanting to take away yao is nonsensical. Look at the numbers he is putting up for the series.

No.2 Boozer is an awesome player, he is a legit all star by all accounts so don't make it as if he suddenly became this great player and "owned" yao. his high arching shots are also really difficult to stop.

No.3 Yao has his weakness and the Jazz exploited them. they played a very physical game to counter yao and the refs allowed them to do so. It definitely made yao uncomfortable so hopefully he can overcome it.

Its not about who owns who.

The bottom line is Yao was a defensive liability in the paint!! Needs to be more aggressive ( same song , different dance)

While Im editing, Im gonna fill in here who was closest to Boozer as he shoots...lets see who really gave up the points, and if they gave up open shots or not.

    1st Half
    1) right baseline jumper - miss, battier defending on the switch
    2) pullup just inside ft line center - hit , Yao little more than armslength away, not contested
    3) deep postup right - miss, Yao contested
    4) highpost right - stolen, chuck tips pass and gets steal
    5) right low block - hit, diving off a high pnr from top of key throws it up when he runs into Deek (lucky shot imo)
    6) ft line jumper - miss, off a high center pnr, Jho contests on the help
    7) driving off a right high pnr - miss, tmac rotated to contest
    8) right baseline, forced to pass by Battier double
    9) top of key (extended right) jumper - hit, Yao does contest just not quick enough to stop it

    2nd Half

    1) right post jumper - hit , Yaos hand in face (good D imo, just good shot)
    2) right post jumper - miss, Battier contested on help D
    3) middle of paint hook - miss, chuck contested on transition D, Yao pickup Okur as he enters picture
    4) right side paint jumper from pnr - miss, chuck rotates on help to contest(attempts to draw charge)
    5) right high post hook - hit, CB takes three steps towards basket puts shot up off glass with Yao right in front of him, just a good make
    6) dives left from top of key, receives pass from Harpring, puts up hook off glass - hit, yao unable to stay with speed of the dive, but still contested it.
    7) right side baseline - airball, uncontested as Yao was on the block stopping deron drive
    8) right top of key, drive left for the slam, Yao unable to stay with him, Battier unable to help in time
    9) right post, fade jumper from the middle of paint - hit, Yao unable to stay with him, no help D
    10) left post - Chuck blocks
    11) right elbow(catch and shoot from Giri) - hit, finds the hole in the defense as Yao was shading off him to cover a possible move by Giri
    12) right to left fade just below ft line - fouled by Yao (one ft made)
    13) Harpring to Boozer alleyoop, Yao sealed off by Deron, Jho was slow to rotate to help on the backdoor cut
    14) left post area jumper - miss, Yao contested, gets rebound
    15) to of key jumper - miss, Battier contested on switch
    16) drive left lane off high pnr, scoops up off glass - hit, Yao unable to keep up
    17) drives left lane from ft line - hits, Yao unable to keep up, help was slow

well, that is the tale of the tape.

Ive had enough for the night, if others wish to further break down these possessions for further blame on the help D failures, go for it if you got tape...if ya dont have tape, wait till the afternoon and download the game that I just finished editing.

TheHangover, Ive said allIm gonna say to you personally...except for this.

I think your perspective is EVERY BIT AS BIASED as those you are arguing against....just in the opposite direction.

zone defenses are picked apart by good shooting teams...this is basic basketball, dont those of you who keep clammering for this understand that?

Utah happens to be a very good shooting team, Harpring, Giricek, Deron, Okur, Fisher,Boozer....all very good shooters, you give them the spots that a zone leaves open, and they will tear you up.

Face it folks, as long as Yao is on the floor he must guard the inside players...this is an indisputed(by anyone with a rudimentary basketballl knowledge) fact...you cant have yoir slow tall center running out to the three line to guard his man.
The secret is to give him some help....which we did with a decent amount of success....I got tape to prove that..

Chuck Hayes bothered Boozer so much; he needs to guard Boozer. Yao doesn't necessarily have to follow Okur all around the court. Okur will step out for the three occasionally, but his three has been off this series, and he may make 2 or so, but that's not as big as the benefit we'd get from Hayes being a pest on Boozer. He stole it from him, made him stumble and lose it, everything. Chuck is faster than Yao. Yao need not move around a lot, he can still focus on the paint area and play help defense on drives. Okur isn't exactly being deadly with his outside shot.

Since you're a Boozer/Jazz fan I guess it's appropriate, but that was in the REGULAR SEASON.

Obviously you're not very bright so I'll help you. I am black and I have mentioned that before on these message boards. So quit acting like a baby and calling everyone Chinese and Asian because we're pointing how stupid it is to say a guy who put up 21 and 15 is the worst player on the court. That comment alone coule be looked at as racist. Just give it a rest because I don't think you can make yourself look any dumber then you already have. Or anymore like troll then you are.

Then those fans aren't very smart if they want a guy who put up 21 and 15 to be pulled from the game.
