Boozer is contract is dirty cheap and a ripoff. Camby for $60 million, Foyle for over $40 million? With so much cap space, Jazz will definitely not just sit around.

If I were Boozer, I would sign a 4 year MLE contract with the 3rd and 4th years being player's option. That way if he continues to improve, he could opt out and sign a max deal with the Cavs in 2 years when they have his bird rights.

Enjoy it. Your team is now based around a Boozer-Okur frontcourt, worth over $110 million.

This is so funny. I wonder if the Cavs GM will get any heat. He basically let Boozer walk by not picking up the option. He "trusted" Boozer would resign :D :D Basketball is a business and he made a stupid decision.

Young team, two players that have the ability to improve SO much.

For the first time in Jazz history Utah was aggressive in the off season.

I've been waiting for a FA season like this. Where Utah put out the big money and got some solid players.

That is exactly what they did.

Basically you have two role players making superstar dollars. At least you finally have a black guy on your team. To me, it would have made a little more sense to pay Kenyon Martin this money instead. I guess KMart wanted around $70 million though.

Jazz is not the only team overpaying this offseason. Plus they got a steal with their Arroyo deal.

That said, Jazz tried to get Martin, but it's obvious he wants to go back to the Nets. In today's Rocky Mountain News Kiki basically told Martin to go back to NJ. The Jazz weren't going to get Martin.....so the next best PF would be Boozer.

you're right but they overpaid for TWO players. i mean, they're not in any serious salary cap issues but still...it would leave a bitter taste in my mouth for shelling out that kind of money for OKUR and boozer

If they don't overpay, they don't get anything.....

Okur's offer would have been matched, Boozer wouldn't have come to Utah.

They'd have to spend all that money on scrubs.

i do agree with you though. they have to fork over a lot because Utah ain't exactly full of beaches and celebs.

WOW, I guess money talks! 6yr 68M is a lot better than the Cavs offer of 6yr 40M! No question.

I guess gentlemen's agreement means crap in the NBA. Kinda sad really! Boozer did screw the Cavs! And Paxon should have seen this coming with all of those teams with all of those FA dollars available out there. The Cleveland Press is going to crucify Paxson!

So the Utah front line is AK-47, Boozer and Okur. Not bad really. And EXACTLY the kind of players Sloan loves to have on his team. No nonsense workers. They will work VERY WELL in Utah's system.

Utah, for a city where it probably is pretty tough to get good FAs, they did a nice job in resigning Arroyo and getting Okur and Boozer.
