I'm coming upon some time off and am looking for a book to read. I can assume that from reading posts in here that most of you are well educated. Therefore I'd greatly appreciate any suggestions that you may have. It doesn't have to be a new release, but preferably non-fiction. Thanks guys or gals.

My favorites are Candide by Voltaire and Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert A. Heinlein.

All the Pretty Horses by Cormac McCarthy is excellent. It's being made into a movie soon.

The Scarlet Letter is also an excellent read.

Shot in the Heart, by Mikail Gilmore, especially if you're a murder buff.

Sorry. I probably should have been more specific.

Perhaps something stimulating. The first suggestion, The Age of Reason, is something that I'd consider because I've read some interesting excerpts from it.

To answer your question, Jeff, I'd rather not read about politics.

If at all, I would just like to hear some suggestions.

    Thanks again guys.

Fever Pitch by Nick Hornby. It's pretty much his autobiography and how it relates to the various important football matches (soccer) his team, Arsenal, has played.
