He was either going to play today or tomorrow, but not both days. I think he'll get to play tomorrow.
say what you want to about JVG's coaching tonight but he won the game. my only guess is that bonzi is so out of shape he can only play once or twice a week right now. either way we could use fresh legs tomorrow.
Maybe the fans can give Yao, T-Mac, Wells, and Sura time to actually get fully healthy, rather that constantly harp on them?
I'll settle for playing the guys we needed to play in order to get a win in the first game of a back to back. Worry about the fresh legs tomorrow, now that we have at least 1 win in the bag.
Did ANYONE watch the game? Bill Worrell said that: a. Bonzi is not in shape and is being held out until he is. b. Bonzi is frustrated with his performance. c. Bonzi and JVG are on the same page and both agree that Bonzi needs more time.
Every win is a big win, every loss hurts. I'm still grumpy about the minutes the guys played after the Dallas blowout was clearly a blowout. Bogut v Yao, on a back-to-back is bad. Redd v TMac or Snyder, on a back-to-back is bad. CV v CH bad match-up, so Scottie or Novak maybe?
All I'm saying is that the game was close and some guys like Novak, VSpan, and even Bonzi in his current state, could have been liabilities down the stretch. Nobody was really in foul trouble tonight either, so I'd rather just go with what's working and secure the win. Besides, if you can just go .500 on every road trip, you should be sitting pretty come playoff time. Since it seems like we'll finally have a homecourt advantage this year.
Bonzi is a good player, better than average, and he will be great for us..after he gets into shape. He already gets those rebounds pretty well..now he just has to practice, get those shots to go in..get fit. I'm glad we have him
Well, here is the real scoop from Jonathan Feigen: ============================================ Of Bonzi, Batt-man and the boy wonder Bonzi Wells looked sharp in the suit he wore to the game. But I'm not sure he brought it on the trip planning to wear it during games. When I asked him about playing his way into shape at Tuesday's shootaround, he gave me four one-word answers. Nothing angry or impolite. Still, I'm thinking he wasn't thrilled with a return to the inactive roster. Just a guess. Rockets coach Jeff Van Gundy said that Wells was inactive to give him time to get in shape.
I just don't see how he can't get in shape by playing some minutes in the rotation. He would get some experience with the team and burn off some cheeseburgers.
