Thomas and SAR seemed to play out-facing the basket. They both were a dribble attack threat. Yao is pretty much a goliath in the paint that is constantly swarmed with double teams. Not a similar situation at all IMO.

Is he playing hurt. I didnt like the way he is fighting rebounds from his teammates. Looks like he is detemined to pad his stats whenever he gets a chance. Dude has to change his approach if that's true. Clearly it's not working for him.

If the team was perfect there would be five threads complaining that "the Rockets don't get any respect!"

One of the b's in BBS has to stand for "b****."

bonzi is just lacking in confidence right now. you can tell he feels down whenever he misses a layup or turns it over. hopefully he picks it up because he is capable of carrying this team when things go awry.

Bonzi is off his game 'cause he is not good at 20+ft jump shot. In our offense he is put in position where he has to take them, once he misses the long shot, it affects other parts of his game.
If he gets to post up and slashes to the basket a few times, he''ll be ok. He is a smart defender and rebounder. He can be clutch in the playoffs. He's been there.

Just a question because i am unable to make threads but is there anyway that we can package Battier and Bonzi for a better Defender who can actually hit the 3??

Bonzi needs to calm down. He's rushing things in the court.

Calm down about Bonzi, I don't understand why he gets bashed on so quick and Shane Battier's everyday game is Bonzi's worst. Battier should be traded, to get a real 4. He can't hit shots, can't slash, he is a flopper and thats why his charges have always been called fouls, he is the one you should be making a thread about.

You mean the vision of a random person posting on an internet forum? Yup, with that vision, maybe we can also make a trade everytime we lose, and trade a bunch of our scrubs for superstars.

You don't reward crap play with more minutes. That's just the stupidest thing I've heard. And anyone saying Battier should be benched in favor of Bonzi has no clue what they are talking about. Battier is not giving us much? Maybe we can have Tracy chase around the Kobes, Wades, and other elite swingmen in the league on defense. You think that'll keep him fresh for a 4th quarter? Or how about fresh for the playoffs?

Vision is seeing beyond the game by game performance (like preseason) and understanding what "TALENT" you have on your team and how to best use it. Obviously you can't see this since your point of view is that Bonzi is playing bad right now. If he has 10 games in a row with a double double, I wonder if you would change your mind and agree with me, or would you still think Battier is better?

Your point about Tmac seems to say that he is soft and therefore shouldn't have to guard other players in the league that play his position because it will wear him out. I don't see Kobe running away from challenges like that. If Tmac plays the 2, then let him guard the 2's against the teams he plays. I don't see Kobe, Lebron, Wade, Melo, elite point guards, etc. shying away from guarding the best players on other teams. If you want Tmac ready for the playoffs and fresh, tell Rick Adelman to stop playing him and Yao almost 40 minutes a game; but that does require some VISION!

And Im perfectly fine with not doing any more trades if it works out like that this season. I think we have enough to win a championship if Rick Adelman uses it properly. Nevertheless, I would love to pick up CWebb as a backup center for Yao to go small ball with.

Btw, Stupid is as Stupid does. So both your response to me and Rick Adelman's lineup and rotations for the first 12 games this year qualify for top of the list!

Dude all you have to do is take a look at Bonzi when he was with Sacramento a few years ago.

    I noticed 2 significant things:

    1. He needs to post up - tough to do with Yao in there.
    2. He needs to attack the basket.

Bonzi can have 10 games with a double double and that would just mean he's a great player coming off the bench. I'm not saying that Bonzi shouldn't be starting because he's sucking right now. I'm saying Bonzi isn't going to start because Battier is a lot better fit with Tracy and Yao than Bonzi will ever be.

It's not about T-Mac being soft. It's about managing resources. Duncan last year cruised through the season and was fresh to dominate in the playoffs. Dirk dominated through the season but didn't have enough legs to win in the playoffs. Same thing with Nash the two seasons before. They run out of gas when trying so hard in the regular season. Taking Shane out of the game will increase the wear and tear on T-Mac. Other teams don't have an option like Battier to defend the stars of the teams they play. We have it, and we're damn well going to use it.

Oh and I'm sure Rick Adelman just improvises on a game to game basis. Cleary he has no vision on where this team needs to be come playoff time.

TMac & Yao are the staples, we only need the occasional better than average games from Bonzi, SF3 and MJ ... and a coach that recognizes the hot role player(s).

It's a very legitimate subject. I had a lot of confidence in Bonzi being able to finish at the rim early this season. He's completely lost his touch. Why?

Bonzi's play has been so piss-poor lately, somebody needs to check his cell phone records and see if there are any calls to or from Tim Donaghy.

Morey should put one of those ankle monitors on Bonzi since he spends more time at the clubs late at night than practicing on his layups. :D
