I don't see why we can't use both of them.

Bonzi is nice to keep and run him just for the playoffs, where we might be playing the Spurs in the first round. He is, after all, the "Spurs Killer". Face it, San Antonio has no answer for him. Bowen will have his hands full with Tmac, Duncan/Elson/Oberto with Yao, that leaves who to guard Bonzi? Horry? Manu? Finley? None of them can match up with him on the low post.

Snyder might have better upside and discipline, but he's less of a playmaker than Bonzi is. Bonzi creates mismatches, Snyder relies on his strength and athleticism. Against teams like Phoenix, he might be useful.

I say, 8 man rotation, you don't have to be set on one particular player. It really depends on match-ups. Some nights, Bonzi is gonna be better for us, others, it'll be Kirk.

As for where Bonzi stands as a player, I do think he has the goods, but is just unmotivated to make use of them. I only recall 2 postseasons where he shined actually. One with the last of the playoff years for the Jailblazers, and the other with the Kings while playing for a contract.

    Reliable? Hardly.

Kind of how I feel, but I would probably hold onto both of them just to be safe.

I don't know if it's been stated yet, but this is the exact reason for why it's so crucial to have Luther playing backup PG instead of SG.

    We're too clogged at SG.

We have McGrady (obviously) starting, and we have 2 iffy yet promising talents that are useful in that position in Bonzi and Snyder. Luther has no room at SG, not on this team at least.

Also, we don't have any proven talent yet at backup PG, whereas Luther is at least progressing.

It may not be ideal, but I finally understand why Luther MUST learn to run the point on this team for stretches, if he doesn't, we can't maximize on Bonzi's OR Snyder's talents.

I don't know about how committed Bonzi is to this team, if we get nowhere this post season he'll probably leave, if we get far, i'm sure he'd like to stay.

Bonzi is more gifted offensively and can give us a legitimate third scorer behind T-Mac and Yao for the playoffs. But he's isn't consistent and still trying to find his way into our lineup. Snyder on the other hand isn't as great offensively but you know what you're going to get from him night in and night out, very aggresive defender and adds speed to our line-up.

I think we need both of them in order to make a deep run in the playoffs.

hate to put this out there, but noticed something when I was at the Rocket Shop during Saturday's Bobcats game. There is a display of the replica jerseys against the wall where its basically Yao, Tmac, Battier, and Bonzi. But for some reason, Bonzi's jerseys were in a seperate remote place while Yao/Tmac/Battier's jersey where still on the wall. I just noticed it on Saturday in which the last time I was there was the week before vs. the Hornets and know for sure that Bonzi's was still on the wall.

IIRC, on draft night, during the Draft Party at the Toyota Center, all of the Swift replicas were on sale for $10, a hour after the draft party ended, they announced that Swift was part of the Battier trade. Weird eh? Sounds like they planned to trade him somehow during the draft, put the jerseys on sale for people to buy because they just dont know yet, and made the trade before the party even started.

my point is, i wouldnt be surprised if Bonzi is traded before the deadline.

again, i hate saying this to start some things, but if it does go down, you heard it here first....

again, im just throwing it out there, hell, im sure they are plenty of people on here that goes to game, one of you go on Tuesday, see what im talking about and post here to see if im lying or not.

if he doesnt get traded, so be it, if he does, im just saying that it wouldnt surprise me.

hell, the jerseys were still regular price, i bet someone would mention that they had the Yao Replicas remotely placed also, and were on sale for $25 but were the 3xl/4xl sizes and we all know that he is not going to be traded.

again, im not saying Bonzi is going to be traded, but that that was fishy especially with the whole Swift scenario during the draft.

as for what I want? it wouldnt matter between the 2, Snyder is younger and knows his role, but Bonzi has the experience, in the end, i want both on our team and see both of them hug in mid June while celebrating on our home floor.

I really like Snyder and he definitely has a future with the team barring a trade. I just can't see why we can't have both Bonzi and Snyder. Bonzi is just too good on the block but I can see him getting traded just becasue for whatever reason, can't get healthy or into shape.

i always thought Luther and Kirk were close. noticed it at the open practice and the first few preseason games. Saw them like doing their own hug/hi5 whatever, sort of like what Francis/Cat did back in the days.

btw, totally off subject, but the Jordan XX2 commercial with the high school kid (MJ's son?) steals the ball and dunks it at the buzzer, while the other team is in disgrace and looks like everybody will commit suicide, is an awesome commercial, sorry had to mention it, just saw it on TV right now.

I've got to go with Kirk Snyder, I like his willingness to play defense consistently. We don't need the back ups to out score the other teams 2nd unit. We need them to keep the Rockets in the game. Tracy sits down and Stackhouse, Devon George go to work.

Rafer please force Jason Terry left.

I did vote Bonzi cause we know what he CAN do in the playoffs...the question is if he will do it for us...its true Bonzi has more trade value and Kirk brings more energy...i'm torn....if we can get somethig good for Bonzi in a trade, I'd go with Kirk instead....

Snyder looks like he's playing his BUTT off every play. Like he's out to do whatever to prove to stay in the rotation. Takes it hard to the rack, defends, rebounds. I like it. Wells, while he's been somewhat effective, has been pretty effortless on the court......plus turns the ball over an aweful lot....and he just seems out of shape still, for whatever reason.......I dunno, he's just not into it with us. I know he can help us, but I'd rather play Snyder, and trade Wells for a shooter or Center........

Snyder loves Rokets, while Bonzi.........anyway, maybe make no trade(including Synder or Bonzi) at this moment is the better way, just keep them both and waiting for Yao's return and see what will happen?
