Seriously, this is such a boneheard move by JVG. He should be fired on the spot! I agree with bonzi 100% Free Bonzi!

I'm happy he's handling it this way. Otherwise Bonzi will just think he can do whatever he wants all the way through.. I'd rather he understand that he has to fit into the team concept and listen to the coaches in the future..

And I'd rather not have someone playing bonzi 10 mpg, increasing his workload periodically.. just get him in there and get everyone used to it once he's ready for the minutes he should be getting.

(And I don't think Snyder/Head are overachieving..I think this is what we can expect from them. In fact, I expect improvement out of Snyder especially.)

Too funny. He doesn't seem to care enough to get into shape so I am sure he is losing respect from his teammates. Now he will have to work twice as hard to earn JVG's and the team's respect again.

 

Uhm....why so he can blow defensive assignments and miss his jump shots because he is to out of shape to run up and down the court....

Agreed. There's a reason noone took a flyer on Bonzi this offseason until the end. He can't afford another season of bad behavior. In fact, Van Gundy has been doing Wells a favor telling the media he's letting Bonzi get back into shape.

I mean, he could've just said, "I'm not playing the guy because he's an @sshole"

 

i'm just a bit perplexed by the reactions to Bonzi. everyone knew that he wasn't exactly a model team player. now they're so surprised and want him traded. so he reported to the Rockets training camp out of shape. it's going to take some time to lose that weight. big farking deal. so what? just completely give up on him? i'm guess i just see it from Bonzi's side; what was the reason for signing him if you're not going to use him at all? is he that much worse than Padgett and Juhow?

Barkley the Rock was hardly the always playing hard Chuckles in Philly and Phx, two places he knuckleheaded himself away from in trades.

That does not defend Bonzi, it is merely a reaction to how much good Rox have experienced since the day Sir Chuckles arrived.

I hated Pip, still do actually, but was he all wrong with what he said about Barkley?

 

What a horrible coach to demand the best from his players and expect PROFESSIONALS to come in and maintain keeping their bodies in shape.
