Dikembe elbows TMac and he gets all the love. MJ does the same and he gets hated. Life doesn't treat MJ right.
i hope houston does what indiana did with artest. yeah that took forever to find a good trade, but they got something good in return... if they hadn't waited, the offers they had on the table were crappy, and they woulda lost out on peja! morey: just hold out until someone wants bonzi's "talent" enough to PAY to trade for him! trust me... if the rockets wait long enough, someone will soften up and pay for him.
Head and Bonzi combined won't bring you a player like Rashard Lewis or a player of that caliber, the salaries don't match up. Trading these 2 guys for anything less is not worth it, Head is doing great.
im hopeing for either melvin ely , corey magettie or rashard lewis. longs shots I know but a man can dream.
Huge problem with your logic. Artest and Peja made ~$8m. Wells makes $2.1m. Not alot of options in this salary slot regardless of how long you wait. Back on topic... For the Rockets to receive anything of value, they'll have to include Hayes or Luther Head and/or a pick. Frankly, I don't see a big deal including Luther Head. Most of the scenarios in here are for starting caliber players. Guess what? You don't get starting caliber players for Wells and Juwan. Stated another way...the team receiving Wells does not get Bird Rights...they'll need next summers' MLE to re-sign him. So you're not going to get a gold-plated player with that downside. Unless taking a flyer on a player under the radar, value only comes by adding value.
2.1M? Fine! Rest in the regular season and play in the playoff. Everybody will be happy! Such an easy thing. Why bothering to find a trade?!
it's not about us wanting him to be on the team... it's just not working out. we are going to trade him.
The original post on the Sactown website has been deleted!? Can anyone recap it for me? I saw the confirmation from 610 that Bonzi is done here, but what did that original post say?
It was the typical "I know somone on the inside and they said Rockets management agreed that Bonzi is done here" type of thing.
He was pulled from practice and was brought to speak with some front office folks and they basicly told him that he was not going to play for houston. The guy who posted on the sac forum said he heard this from a inside source. The posters status on the board seemed high and he was not geting flamed so it seemed like the tip was on the up and up. Then the 610 comments further confirmed it.
If the Rockets wait long enough they might find the right deal. The East is horrible again, that means that almost every team will be in the hunt for the playoffs up until the trade deadline. Someone will offer something for Bonzi if they believe it will allow them to make a run.
Oh come on. Everyone was excited when we signed Bonzi - he wasn't charlie ward. And Jimmy Jackson wasn't a bad player either. Neither Sura. Look, Bonzi was a risk - everyone knew it. He was cheap with a HUGE upside. It was a great risk for CD to take. We saw the guy on the court - it was comical to see that big rotound man try to play basketball. So he's done as a Rocket. Who cares? We're fine. He is damaged goods. Sometimes you buy something and it turns out not to be as nice as when it was on the store display. Well, you either try to swap it for something else and recoup some value - or you toss it in the garbage for someone else to dig through and make use of. At the end of the day....BYE BYE BONZI!
With the chemistry this team has going right now I won't want Bonzi on there, sounds like he's put very little effort to try and become part of the team. I say let him rot unless a worth while deal comes around.
As Gater said earlier, perhaps we can get someone of value who is flying under the radar. That is why, in a related thread, I suggested trading for Saer Sene of Seattle. Another possibility would be Cedric Simmons of New Orleans. Simmons is stuck behind David West, and Sene has Johann Petro, Robert Swift, Nick Collison and Chris Wilcox in front of him. Both rookies are long, athletic and would complement Yao Ming.
