there no sense in wasting bandwidth on a useless thread... the rockets play the best defense in the league, and they would be able to mask novak's weaknesses.

him being fat is his own damn fault, he's had all season to work out or at least run on a treadmill to burn off that chubs yet he seems to not have given effort, f him!

    this is sarcasm right?

The guy first turns down 38.5 mill from the Sac Kings, opting for more money. Once he realizes his mistakes, he boasts that its not about the money. He shows up out of shape, never really gets in shape, and starts off with his ego clashing with van gundy's, when he didn't really have room to do any of that. He had alot to prove this year, and he didn't feel like putting for the effort. If he is depressed about the money he missed out on, it hardly has anything to do with JVG. He was give a chance to make the playoff rotation, and he blew it.

Very well said, but he will find a team next year unless he has too much pride to play for $2 or 3 million.

I laughed so loud it almost woke my son up in the next room. That round drawing of Bonzi is hilarious. My head aches from laughing so hard.

Am I the only one who feels bad for the guy? I mean he was playing awful. He did the ROckets a favor by leading the game. Maybe he really feels like he is making things worse.

Give the guy a chance. None of you know him personally.

He can't quit, he has a freakin contract.

All he needs to do is sit his fat self on the bench and cheer the team. I don't care if I don't know him personally. He signed a 2.1M contract with the Rockets, and whether he likes it or not he is still in this roster, so all he had to do is sit down and shut his mouth if he wasn't playing.

It's called being professional. You can't just quit on a freakin contract. So I will not cut the guy a break.

If he doesn't want to be here, it is in the team's best interest to cut him loose....remember Vernon Maxwell in our 2nd championship run.

Out of sight out of mind baby !

    And to think...

if Bonzi might be rewarded with a championship ring if the Rockets win it all.

If wells is logging significant minutes in the playoffs we have some serious problems.

No -- Fonzi Whales was just afraid to talk to JVG.

What a douche. My sincere hope is that he stays inactive for the last few games, then opts out of the second year of his contract to pursue more money, THEN doesn't get it and has to sign with a crappy team for even LESS money next year.

I repeat: What a complete and utter douche. If I were Les Alexander, I'd talk to the league about seeing if I could get some of this season's money back.

    ...

Then again, we did win tonight, so maybe he WAS disrupting things.

I was so excited when we signed Wells. I thought he'd be huge for us but he was just huge. It's really disappointing.

If you're so certain he could give us productive minutes, then why aren't we playing him then?

The fact that people on here were blaming JVG about this whole fiasco is what makes me laugh.

Bonzi is showing his true colors once again. I don't think the JVG-haters really can defend this.

He's quitting on his teammates. Rather than say he doesn't want to be a distraction, why don't he actually try and become a good teammate by conforming to the idea that he has to be a team player.

Sorry, Bonzi, that the Rockets want to win games. Get your fat paycheck that is relative to your waistline for a lottery team. The Rockets have been better off without you. Your contributions aren't memorable at all. I will only remember you for having a fat chick on your lap while you should have been getting in shape.

I recall in the Sacramento game thinking Bonzi would want to put on a good show for the fans, and yet when he came in, it looked like his teamates froze him out. Rafer several times, just would not pass it to him. If his teamates really don't see the value in him, then that may explain him just saying sayonara on this whole bad year's experiment with the Rockets.

It really hasn't worked out too well, so I do feel bad for the guy as well as feeling bad for the Rockets. Two million wasted....

The weird thing is that if he'd shown up in shape and tried to work within the team concept, he'd probably have put up decent enough numbers to land a pretty fat contract next year (not $38 million, though). Instead, he did exactly what he needed to do to make every GM in the league think twice. My bet is he'll sign with some desperate team for something in the vicinity of 3 years for $15-$18 mil.

In other words, the amount of money he dumbasses himself out of continues to grow.

I think that sums it up.

I retain hope that he can give us some key minutes in the playoffs. ;)

Which is what he's been doing as it's not like he's been crying to the media. This is only a distraction because the Rockets made it one. There should have been a media gag on this.

What a waste. he could have really helped us but his selfishness (and a little of JVG's stubborness) got in the way. I just hope his vanishing act ends up costing him a few million on his contract. Hey, a fella can dream.

Good counter example, but I still don't think JVG is the guy to work with head cases.
