i'm not going to flame you....but with such a provocative intro...what do you want me to do.

do you want to discuss basketball, or just make wild DaDakota type claims.

what type of thread starter are you....myFuzzybear?

Don't get your hopes up about Bonzi. He'll be skipping games for mysterious injuries within a month. And he'll start thinking that he's better than he is and slowing down the offense. He's done this a half dozen times already.

i said before bonzi should be our third option. he looked great yesterday and was very fast when he had the ball. one thing i think that gets overlooked is bonzi's defense and rebounding.

You're to rough on Shane. However, Bonzi hasn't really played ball in like a year. He will continue to get in better shape, and get into a rhythm. Bonzi has one of the underrated basketball IQs in nba history. Bonzi in rhythm and in shape means a bench for Shane. His defense is really good, rebound is really good, passing is really good, and his post moves are good. Offers just more of a presence than Shane. Plus he brings that extra physical brute force, that wears teams down at the end of games. Hard foul, posting up knocking people on their butt, etc.

Bonzi and Shane play completely different roles on offense. Bonzi is most effective in the post or the high post and we have another player thats 7'6" that will be there most of the time. I think you'll see Bonzi in more when Yao is out or TMac is out than when Shane is out. Bonzi could take all of those players bench minutes.

    Yao's out-
    Scola
    Hayes
    Bonzi
    TMac
    Insert Favorite Point Here

    TMac out-
    Yao
    Hayes
    Shane
    Bonzi
Probably Rafer to take care of the ball with this group or James for D

    Shane out-
    Yao
    Scola
    Bonzi
    Tmac
an offensive PG (read not rafer) here would make for a really high scoring group

I dont know why Bonzi gets a free pass on last year. If he kicks ass this year then I will call it even.

People cliam Rafer is the reason we lost to Utah. Rafer was out there giving every thing he had. Bonzi decided not to play, yet people rag on Rafer. It's messed up.

People blame Bonzi on JVG... even though Bonzi got fat well before he decided on where to sign and knew full well that JVG coached the Rockets when he signed.

Fankly, even if JVG overlooked his absence for toothaches and stuff, Bonzi plainly looked pathetic much of last season. Could barely dunk (if you call it that) at the beginning of the season, didn't do his homework to pick up the playes, and just was not efficient.

He said there were too many sets for him to remember... then how come guys like Mike James picked up the sets even when he joined midseason? Excuses.

I know he is a not bad player, and is not a cancer. Do some people label him as a cancer? He can do something on the court, that is all Rox need, of course he is not perfect, he has some issures before.

It's only pre-season and too early to tell who the Rockets "3rd best player" will be. My hope is that it's not Battier because we've already seen the results of that condition.

Bonzi has played extremely well so far this preason. He is the type of bench player the Rockets have been missing for a long time. Not only is he scoring in a bunch of different ways, he's making good passes and gets a steal every now and then.

If Bonzi looked last preseaon like he does this preseaon we would have beaten Utah.

I agree. Bonzi is perfect coming off of the bench along with Mike James and Scola. We need that type of energy and scoring punch to come in when we spell out starters. The starting lineup of Alston, T-Mac, Battier, Hayes and Yao won 52 games last year and it appears they carried that chemistry over to this year. They are penciled in as our starters in my book. But now we have punch off the bench which is something that plagued us last year. Having Bonzi, James and Scola coming off the bench with energy and scoring ability is going to make a huge difference for our team.

Is it ok if he's our forth best player? Bruce Bowen is the spurs' forth best player and Shane is arguably better than him. It's a shame though that the spurs can have their best three players in the starting lineup and we don't even know who our third best player is.

I'm not sure what Bonzi you were watching but he basically lazed his way through in spots last night, at least that's the way it appeared. He committed a lot of fouls and didnt' appear to be trying to hard.

So basically, you've never watched Shane playing basket ball game, right?
