    Its funny how we rip on Rafer when hes playing but we come to realize hes probably the closest thing to a PG for the Rockets (in terms of experience, and running the offense).

    of course, I wont deny the fact I ripped on him too, but lets not take credit from BJax, seeing hes had some big games for us, whether its starting or coming off the bench

    8 points on 50% shooting (4-8 FG) with 5 rebounds. Imagine if you would give Bonzi more touches.

    Compare that to Bobby Jackson 20% shooting (3-15 FG) with 3 assists.

    I know your not a fan of Bonzi Wells, you've said it over and over.

    We all know the trade wasn't to get Bobby Jackson in the expense of Bonzi Wells, it was to get rid of Mike Jame's horrible contract. I think Bonzi Wells in the playoff is a lot scarier than Bobby Jackson.

    However all that is a moot point since we didn't trade for what we felt we needed in order to have a better chance in the playoff, it was basically a money move.

    There's no doubt the Bjax trade was a really bad one for the playoffs this year. It's great from a next year point of view however. I still think we should have given this a genuine shot this year.

    Guaranteed James would be in there before AB and Wells is capable of being a huge scorer.

    We're developing our rookies.

    Wasn't a big complaint about the JVG era the neglect of our future talent?

    Bonzi is looking for a fat payday for showing up during playoffs. Keep remembering that he's a rental.

    This trade is not a bad trade, instead, is a very good one IMO. Here's the reasons:

    1. Yao were still healthy and led the team to 10(?) straight wins;
    2. Scolandry was playing unbelievable basketball and inside scoring was not a problem then;
    3. Bonzi's contract is up and he's not likely to resign with Rockets. He won't forget the 38Mil/5years deal he once possibly got, and Rockets also are not likely to sign big contract with him;
    4. James sucked so badly that the GM have to figured out a way to get his ass out of town;
    5. Veteran PG coming playoff time is important. Although BJ wasn't doing what was expected in game one, at least we still have 3 PGs instead of 2 including one rookie.

    For a trade to work, you have to give up something to get something. In this case, you give up Bonzi's performance this year for a possible better future. The Gasol kind of trade isn't going to happen very often.

    that's not necessarily true - I think Bonzi might have stayed with Rick Adelman.

    I supported the trade when made and still support it. Getting rid of James' contract was a must. I do think Bonzi would have been a difference maker against the Jazz. His tenancity on the boards and determination to get to the glass would look really good right now since the refs are going to continue to allow smash mouth basketball like the first game.

    I knew when we made that trade it would hurt us this year. The reason we made the trade was to improve the team for next year. Bonzi's contract is up after the end of this season, and Mike James horrible contract is still on the books for another couple years. Yes Bonzi would have been nice to have in the playoffs, but that trade was a long term investment. Which is actually smart because with Yao out, realistically the Rockets arent likely to win a championship whether Bonzi is on the team or not.

    Yep, and if Yao was healthy Bonzi would not have been playing all that much anyway....so again...good trade.

    The only question you ahve to ask, is does this team make the trade AFTER Yao goes down??

    I say yes. Why?? Next year. With Yao down, you have to think that kills our title hopes for this season. We still get better next year, and arent jeopardizing our "golden opportunity" this year.

    Also, dont judge how a player does in one system vs how he would do in another. Bonzi was playing along side Chris Paul, David West, and Peja Stojakovic.

    Bonzi tore up the Mavs again. He got 4 points and missed both his free throws. *sarcasm*

    Having Bonzi come of the bench and Aaron Brooks starting in Bobby's place would be 2 losses again.

    Bonzi ain't the playoff savior that you make him out to be, Sweet Lou. The Hornets would still be 2-0 and the Rockets 0-2, if Bobby Jackson was over there. It's all Chris Paul.

    Its not like the hornets needed him tonite. One of the biggest problems we have is the jazz getting offensive rebounds. We are already undersized, bonzi would have given us a legit rebounding presence from the gaurd position. He would give us one more guy who can create his own shot. Mike james' contract is one year longer than BJ's. It is not like we will have any real cap space until Tmac or Yao is gone. The last time we had a TE we just let it expire.

    Bonzi Wells would definitely be helping the Rockets a great deal against Utah if he still played for Houston.

    I stand by what I said. There was a TE? I don't think they got any TE. Did they? It gave them some financial flexiblity. You can be the New York Knicks unable to make any moves or like the Mavericks forced to break up the big 3, Nash, Nowitski, and Finley. We were able to use Spanoulis, for example, to get Scola to help the Spurs' luxury tax position. Rockets can handicapped themselves with the Mike James contract.

    Bobby did well for us down the stretch of the season. He had some nice games. I doubt that James could have done that for us. He really dropped off hard after those first 10 games of the season.

    You just made your self look like an idiot.

    Why even bother to say that? Those baskets were either wide open dunks or tip in.

    Bonzi is a proven scorer.. Mutumbo is over the hill, plus he was always more of a defensive player.

    If you want to make an argument come with something stronger than that.
