We cannot really use Bonzi's spot in the playoffs if he is released / waived? Can We?

Ohh- you mean next year-waive him now or then and pick up a player for the 12 th man - spot next year in the playoffs.

Wait- pick up a 12th man now?

I'm just as pissed off as everyone else, but let's take a step back and realize that this IS basketball and this guy is obviously going through some pretty tough s**t in his personal life... I mean, he did say a few months ago that his botched re-signing with the Kings had literally "consumed" him to the point that it was all he thought about.

We were anxious and wide-eyed to get the "steal" of free agency, but didn't realize the mental anguish he was in, the foreshadowing of which was him coming into camp at least 20-30 lbs overweight. How does that happen to a professional athlete who's livelyhood depends on him being in "NBA" shape? LOTS of comfort food and lathergy, a bi-product of depression folks, groin injury or no groin injury...

And, if you think this all coincidentally happened AFTER our road game at Arco Arena, you're kidding yourselves...

I can't remember which frequent poster was on top of this early (saying bonzi was no substitute for losing out on James) but someone was dead on.

But in all seriousness who didn't know Bonzi wasn't a knucklehead before he became a Rocket. It was always a boom or bust move--the thankfull part was that his contract was small.

Mike James was a kucklehead when signed contract, but CD co went cheap. Seems JVG was not on the same page with CD on the Vspan acquisition. CD said that the offseason goal was to bring somebody that can penetrate with atheliticism and he did just that to bring in Vspan. Not sure was JVG ok with Bonzi before signing, but to me other than the Battier trade, the offseason was pretty much a non-factor. Even in Battier's case, I wish we could've landed on Roy or Foyle. Our role players are just not enough to get it done while Tmac and Yao are still a shade below Kobe and Shaq combo.

When all is said and done this has been my principle concern with JVG. HIs approach limits the potential talent pool to only "JVG type players" . It can be a handicap to winning big time.

I never had high hopes for Bonzi's professionalism because that was never his strong suit. With that in mind, he actually behaved quite well, considering how frustrated he must have been. He was never a big distraction for the team.

JVG is not without any blame in this. He is too strict, too inflexible. IMO, he did n't try enough to bring Bonzi into the team. Some people like Snyder, but Snyder is much less of a player in terms of abilities.

I don't think there is a need to eat crow if you were an optimist...eating crow is for not believing and being proved wrong...not for believing and being disappointed...as with the second option your punishment is given...in the first the "crow eating" is retribution for lack of faith or arrogance... a mother could make her husband eat crow for not believing their kid could graduate...the mother shouldn't have to eat crow if the kid fails to...not saying the husband wouldn't be low enough to rub it in anyways (ie he was always a failure and I knew it), but the mother shouldn't be asked to come forth and take shame in believing in her son...rather he be a punk or not...and yeah... I believed in him because I figured one more guy in red that has the potential to add something...yeah I'm disappointed... 15 points in a victory against the Spurs in a 20 point victory at their house w/o Tmac... that was a bigger tease than Jessica Alba in a schoolgirl uniform...

Eating crow because of one player? No thanks.

The ones that do need to eat crow are the ones that doubted T-Mac and the team when we suffered injuries. The ones that wanted to tank to get Durant. After we lost to Utah, it seemed like everyone assumed we lost HCA. Those people can have some crow also.

Of course, the real crow-eating will occur after we win the whole thing. All the JVG, T-Mac, Rafer, J-Ho haters... have some.

Snyder has been more effective than Bonzi, though. Ability doesn't mean anything if doesn't translate to on-court performance.

What a stupid post and thread. So you're excited that Bonzi Wells hasn't worked out and you're trying to throw it in people's face?

Snyder hasn't been very effective at all. JVG pretty much gave up on him when he tried to bring Bonzi back. I think Bonzi would not have been a bust if JVG started him at the 2 guard with Mac moving to the 3. Unfortunately Battier can't play the 4 so the point is moot.

Don't mean to sound like Luffy1 here, but Snyder really can help us. If we have a combo of T-Mac as a point and Synder as the 2, he can come off the bench and provide a lot of instant offense. I also like Snyder's hustle on the boards and on defense ( when his head's in the game ). I see Kirk being a big part of our team in '07-'08 once JVG trusts him and finds the right part for him.

You also probably blame Ted Bundy's mother for him being a serial killer.

If Bonzi showed anything, JVG would have played him. He played like crap and he never supported the team from the day he didn't want to travel with the team to Dallas to never sitting on the bench and cheering for the team when he was injured.

At the same time, Twolves fans desperately want somebody to take Mike James from them. Too bad James has that trade kick.

Mike James is not a sure bet. He would get flamed by fans here if he permormed like what he did in Minn, which is very possible.
