A moment in infamy. One of the greatest records in sports has been tainted and cheapened. Even though I was very young at the time, the moment when Aaron broke Ruth was magic. This time it was a relief because I don't want to hear about it any more. A tragedy for baseball but the league and the union are to blame for not addressing steroids. The season-ending strike kicked baseball to 3rd place for me. The steroid era pushed it to a distant 3rd. Aaron's record falling to Bonds puts the sport on life-support (for me). Hurry up NFL & NBA.
yeah, i wouldn't call him the best hitter. but maybe the most complete player. 700+ HR's....500+ steals. that's just sick. no one even comes close to that. take away 200 of those HR's, and still no one comes close to 500/500 for a career.
