Vince Young has had an awesome preseason -- his leadership skills and intangibles have gone through the roof.

I seriously hope the Madden curse bites Vince big time this year.

Man you guys were right. The scramble for that ball looked like it could have turned out pretty bad.

Thank god its over and done with. Never cared for Bonds, mainly because he's always been an ass. Glad we can stop hearing about it and it'll be forgotten shortly mainly due to all the controversy

The thing I don't get is that even if Steroids were not in the picture, would everyone be congratulating Barry as the home run champion? I think he is a great player in his own right and his record shows that he is the best home run hitter of this era. I don't think you can compare home run records today to home run records back then when you didn't have short porches to left field all throughout the stadium.

Kind of like, you can't call all those pitchers back in the day who had 100s of complete games and say they are better than pitchers today because of that.

They were each the greatest in their own era and it should be left at that.

Well you could kind of apply that logic to any sports record. Different eras are going to be different, the only thing that can be tracking is the stats so it's up to each person as to how they view a certain record

Greatest Baseball player I have ever seen and maybe the greatest ever. Over 500 steals, most hr, most walks gonna reach 3,000 hits (just stuff off the top of my head)

Did Barry take drugs? I think so and 90+% of people do as well but this is baseball's fault for letting it happen and as far as the record did he not break it? Of course he did, that record is just a recorded history of what happened and during these games the guy has hit 756 of them.

I will never understand why people get so worked up about it

What the hell?? If anything, alcohol would hinder your performance instead of enhancing it. Ruth probably would have hit at least 750 or more homers if he wasn't always boozing it up.

Someone criticizes Paris Hilton here, everyone piles on. Someone criticizes Bonds, 'why are you so worked up about it?' Ok...

So...when does the NFL and NBA start again? I wish this would be the last time I hear about baseball this year.

you wrote in the other thread that bonds deserves criticism for being a jerk. does ruth deserve criticism for being an alcoholic womanizer. you specifically mentioned how bonds treated his wife.

Did you see how many people who had no chance at the ball start pushing and shoving? There's one guy with an orange jersey a few rows above where the ball landed and he starts crowd surfing down. People like that should have been ejected.

Answering a question w/ a question. Instead of answering my post you just came up w/ a new question. Again, why are people 'getting worked up' on a criticism of Bonds, but not about Paris?
