damn, the haters are out in full force in this thread. this was a great baseball moment, whether you like barry bonds or not. i enjoyed every bit of it. now, more studying...
Bonds is a jerk and took Steroids. There is a lot of guys like that. I'm not a fan of his, but i have to admit he's got way more crap than he deserves. I guess that comes with the territory of breaking the most hallowed record in sports.
man F*CK that sorry ass FAKE *SS SH*T his teammates dont seem like they even care "pad on the back" "good job" yeah yeah he hasnt been proven QUILTY and OJ didnt do it too BUD and HANK AARON dont care just like rest of America ...... guess we just have to wait until AROD breaks it so we can really celebrate.
Exactly, I don't see Giambi, Sosa, or McGwire hitting 756 HRs. It takes a lot more than just taking steroids to hit HRs. Bonds has longevity and the natural ability and gifted swing. However I think that many people feel that the record is tainted because of steriods - Hank Aaron didn't need them to hit 755. I think this would be an issue if any of the aforementioned sluggers or any player suspected of using steroids had broken this hallowed record. Despite all that we all just witnessed history which is always pretty cool to me.
i laughed at this post, you might want to check into anger management i could care less about baseball and thought it was a pretty cool moment. glad i saw it. that was one crazy dash for that ball, hopefully noone got hurt. congrats barry, also very classy of hank aaron to record a message to barry
How many homers you guys think Bonds would have If he didn't take Steroids then? 600? 550? 500? 650? 450?
Just curious, but why is this record the most hallowed in all of sports? Is that American sports? Is it because baseball is america's game?
Funny....Yahoo Sports had an asterisk by the number 756 on their front page initially, but now it is gone...... www.sports.yahoo.com
I guess it just holds the most significance in professional sports here in America. Would be a good poll question to compare it to other individual career records in other sports like Kareem's most points scored in the NBA or Emmitt Smith's most rush yards in the NFL.
