It is dangerous when someone uses rhetoric like that. He's saying we have a socialist dictator and in to of that he has said he wasn't fairly elected. If these things were true, what other options do people have other than revolution since we are no longer a few country nor do we have fair and free elections.

Hypothetically, if I am living in a country with a truly totalitarian government, and someone consequentially threatens a terrorist action against my government, I don’t think I’m even expressing “implicit support” by saying I understand the reason for that person’s anger but terrorism isn’t the answer.

It could be argued that publicly mischaracterizing a non-totalitarian government as totalitarian contributes to anger that can lead to terrorism and is therefore irresponsible — but I wouldn’t say it is expressing implicit support for terrorism.

It sends a mix message - "Hey you are doing the right thing but I have to condemn you officially"
