it's not a coincidence that this is their response, while Fox News is talking about immigrant 'invasions' and Tucker Carlson is praising dictators and conservatives are trying to prop up people like Babbit who stormed the Capitol.

They are priming their followers so that, at best, they aren't held accountable when they try to further damage democracy and fair elections or, at worst, the next time around their insurrection attempts are more likely to succeed.

The GOP are largely extremists now, and they continue to prep their base to accept their actions.

Is Joe Biden acting like a socialist dictator?

If you could save 1 life, would you blow up 2 city blocks?

    That’s some interesting math.

Conservatives should be happy with Joe.

He got us out of Afghanistan and is closing in on the Infrastructure bill. Both goals for Trump that the right supported.

He hasn’t budged on student loan debt or pushed forth a Medicare for All type plan yet.

He cut taxes for the middle class by increasing the child tax credit and wants to make it permanent.

I guess they can continue b****ing about the border and how COVID is now primarily a result of immigrants.

I disagree... he wrote: "understand citizenry anger directed at dictatorial socialism" which he was directed at Democrats in office, thus giving a pass, if not outright encouraging others to act in a similar way. All elected officials, regardless of party, should abhor such violence directed at our democratic (small D) process. Unfortunately, just as he defended the January 6 insurrection, he supports this violent attack on our government.

If he was supporting the violence, he wouldn’t have referred to him as a terrorist. And he says in the next sentence that the way the “fight back” is through elections. I don’t see how the statement can be read as support for violence. Let’s not tack on imagined offenses just because his politics suck.

The extreme political rhetoric contributes to political violence.

Expressing sympathy for a terrorist by understanding their motives against totalitarianism is implicit support.

LOL Mo Brooks and hi lot isn't the type of persons who incites political violence

"understand citizenry anger directed at dictatorial Socialism."
    "fight back:"

those are the same type of violent rhetoric that incited people on Jan 6

"this is the fight our lives"
    "total war"

you really expect some to blurt out "kill/bomb/hang them"?

Not to say there aren't people like this, but this is obviously a total scam. If you live outside the US and watch World/US news side by side, you will understand what's going on here.

Hypothetically, if I am living in a country with a truly totalitarian government, and someone consequentially threatens a terrorist action against my government, I don’t think I’m even expressing “implicit support” by saying I understand the reason for that person’s anger but terrorism isn’t the answer.

It could be argued that publicly mischaracterizing a non-totalitarian government as totalitarian contributes to anger that can lead to terrorism and is therefore irresponsible — but I wouldn’t say it is expressing implicit support for terrorism.

How has no one mentioned that this guy showed up at the Library of Congress instead of the Capitol? He clearly searched "Congress" in Google Maps and went with the first result...because the Capitol isn't called "Congress".
