I don't know how many games he did play at the 3, but saying he played 20 games is ridiculous. The few games he played at the 3 were also mostly terrible, and what I was saying, if you go back to my post, was that Kenny had to prove he could PLAY WELL at the 3. If there weren't already doubts about this, could you tell me why it was such a big deal this season that KT would be playing the 3? He actually trimmed his weight down and practised his jumper and 3 point shots (29 % last season, I think) more in the off season, simply because he wanted to prove this season that he could play the 3 satisfactorily. I am not going to continue arguing with you about KT at the three being an experiment. I know it is, and other posters will agree with this. I don't think we need to continue harping on it (yes it's an experiment, no it isn't ...) I 'll check out a few articles on it and provide links to back up what I'm saying when I have the time.
http://www.clutchcity.net/news.cfm?NewsID=1064 In case you dont want to read the article, here is a quote from kenny himself, "Yeah, the thing about it is I played some small forward a little bit last year, like the last 15 to 20 games or so," said Thomas.
The fact that Kenny himself says so does not mean it is true. In fact, it is total bull when Kenny says he played the 3 in the last 15-20 games. I remember watching those games on TV, and I'm willing to bet 200 bucks that Kenny played the 4 in at least THE LAST FIVE GAMES. In those games, as far as I can remember, Rudy started with a forward tandem of KT and Terence Morris, except a game (against the Blazers, I think) where Cuttino(!) played the 3, KT the 4 and Torres was at the 2. I'll check to prove it, but I really am sure of what I'm saying.
LOL. Whatever dude, you are in over your head. I think everyone here would agree with me. Im going to sleep now, you are wasting my time.
Oh, quite sorry about that. You should have known that before starting an argument you were destined to lose. I'm sorry to have robbed you of your sleep though. I live in Germany, and it is just about noon here now
"(although everyone knows I think he's a bust). " That is the funniest thing I've heard in this whole hilarious thread. That's like buying a car, and saying it's ruined before you even drive it. Boki's still suffering from his injury, he said it himself. Give him some time. I think he's going to aggravate it though (bad feeling). Let's hope for the best. We have Rice and T-Mo taking care of business anyway.
i don't think it is so much Boki suffering from injury as it is Rudy wanting T-Mo to hold on to that confidence and groove. T-Mo was simply on fire. (an occurance so rare you can count 'em on you fingers... on one hand...) the only conclusion i drew from this game was that Boki is probably NOT going to play SG very often, from the way Mobley was getting extended minutes. i think we're a bit harsh on the poor newbies here. they're new to this bbs, don't know who's the good posters, don't know the high degree of courtesy to which we generally adhere, and so may be a bit touchy, especially when they meet some of our own more abrasive posters.. CMR's original post on Boki isn't that off the mark. I'm sure many of us would have also liked to see our 15th pick get a chance to show a bit more... Maybe Rudy was just trying to evaluate our first-team back court using the new offense (albeit without Yao, Rice and MoTay)?
TMo is going to make the active roster and Boki just became the Dan Langhi replacement. I am really surprised at this development. I wouldn't be surprised if DL. I mean Boki, ends up on IR at the first of the year...
...i would be. who else do we have that makes sence to have on the active roster? we have: cato-ming moT-griff-Tmo rice-kt cat-oz steve-mooch with one spot left, its down to tierre, tito, collier, and boki. you might as well cross collier off the list right now.
I pretty much agree with you. Rudy probably wants to see different combinations on the floor and evaluate it over the length of a full game. I'm sure over the next few preseason games remaining, he'll play other combos until he knows which sets have good chemistry and which doesn't.
Originally posted by CUTTINO RULES!! saying Boki will just be a good bench player athough it is your opinion(haha benad) ... Where did you learn your netiquette, child? Never mind, the question was not applicable. Some members are giving you some breathing room. Take advantage of it. BTW, the concept of you intimidating Behad is very amusing. Thanks for the laugh.
Here's a thought. I agree that it probably isn't a great idea to play the big guns for 35-40 minutes a game in early preseason. It's always nice to give the new players a few good looks. Granted, everyone on the team is learning a new offense and requires time, but the new guys need to find a comfort zone just playing at the NBA level. HOWEVER, I wouldn't be surprised if RudyT's goal for game 1 of the preseason was just to win. We didn't exactly have a year to brag about last year and even winning a preseason game raises expectations for rooks and vets alike. We might actually see a marked change in minutes as the preseason games progress, but winning #1 was a good plan in my book.
Yep! I really see Rudy putting Boki on IR now and letting him watch the NBA game, get healthy, and practice and blend in slowly. If one of the guys gets injured he is back on the active roster. I am surprised (pleasantly) at TMo. That's great! Out of the rest, I say Tito is the one who will get it - contract, plays two positions. But, don't rule Mickeal out...
Cohen i dunno what your talking about i was saying that kinda like hey look behad im doing what you told me in no way did i mean that to mock him dont read into things 2 much
hey CUTTINO RULES!! makes some good points although i dont agree with the way he says certain things this yound man knows his stuff! No hes not an expert either am I but when your 15 and thinking like a coach and not sounding completely stupid I think youll do ok. So CR dont worry about people saying stuff to you for voicing your opinion say what you want its a free country!!! BE easy on the little guys, senior members ok?
I think he's absouletly right. Rudy needs to evaluate everybody from last year's starting line up. He wanted to see the new and improved Kenny and EG. See how Steve's shoulder his holding up. And see if Cato can put his play where his mouth is. I think it was a well thought out game. Boki will get his in time.
Considering the 'way' he has said things... Originally posted by CUTTINO RULES!! ...(haha benad) ... Originally posted by CUTTINO RULES!! hey Behad you havent replied whats the deal?! lol ...he has gotten off very lightly..so far. He's probably made it on only a few ignore lists, but he could be well on his way to stardom. Maybe Behad feels some compassion for him, (sees his son in a year ), so he let him off easy...this time. nuf said.
