boki SUCKS ... does this really suprise any of you? Another horrible draft pick by Rudy T. When are we going to hire new scouts... this crap has been going on for the better part of 10 years... only decent picks over the last 10 years were Sam, Horry and Cuttino. That's 3 decent players over 10 years.
Compared to who was played in his place and activated of the IL he is a lot better in my opinion. Gaines can't hit an open jumper. Bowen showed he can hit an open shot but that's about it. Boki at least has shown he can hit 50% of hit threes, and with JJ out we need someone that can score and instead he went to the IL....
What about him sucks so bad??? His ridiculous veritcal, his great 3 point shooting, his ability to penetrate when given the chance, his defense (I know he fouls a lot but he hustles),his ability to draw the charge?? I know he is inconsistant but that goes away with PT. He does not get the PT and every time he screws up or misses a shot, it seems like he gets pulled from the game and has to sit out a few. How is that for motivation?? If you screw up, you are out. The only thing i see bad is his statue of liberty fake dunk lay-ups....or whatever it is. He easily could be a big part of this team but I guess it doesnt fit into JVG offense. I am not saying that BOKI is the answer to our problems because he is not but I know it has been beaten to death but he needs more chances to help us. Jimmy will be gone soon and Bowen sucks. What is the worst that could happen???
We also need someone who can defend. One of JJ's biggest additions to this team is his defense, more so than his scoring. A lot of times that's overlooked. Bowen did great in place, IMO. According to the Chron, JVG went with Gaines hustle over Boki's. We don't see practice every day, I won't question his motives.
The only part i really want to comment on is qustioning his motives. JVG has made a lot of poor descisions since he got here and this just really adds to it in my opinion. Regardless of who they brought in (bowen or Gaines) neither is on the level of JJ's defense. So that is sort of a wash. Boki has a better overall game then both of them and should have been given the ability to play in his place.
Got to agree with you BigBen....with ample PT I sure Boki would become aclimated in playing the right (no more silly fouls) kinda defense.
I think you really underestimate Bowen's defense and hustle. I guess we'll just have a drink on you at Live, and agree to disagree
The Drink sounds good. i don't disagree that Bown does have Hustle and good defense. I guess i am more pissed off at the fact that we are not letting any player develop under the JVG system and that just adds to the frustration. I just think Boki being here this long and still not given a chance to shine really sucks.

At the same time, you're trying to win games. Your team is in a 5 game slide and you just lose a starter. Now is not the time to develop a player, especially with half the city calling for your head. You play to win.
Boki could go 10 of 10 shooting in a game and still wouldn't get any minutes from JVG on the next night...Even with JJ out due to the fact that he is past the age of 30 and playing more minutes than any other Rocket, the injury was expected...it was inevitable.
We sure could have used Boki tonight with everyone outside of Padgett struggling from the 3 pt line. I have no clue why Gaines is playing ahead of him right now.
go figure. well don't try cause trying to figure out JVG's reasoning will hurt your head. Its that unpredictable.
