I have a strong feeling that Boki just wasn't as good as he seemed. What I did see in his limited playing time wasn't very impressive and he looked to have a case of Langhiitis. It's as simple as this, if he would've helped the team win, he would've played.

Let's face it, we just have no handle on Boki. Is he going to be good or lost with the new regime or just a flat out bust is all conjecture until he actually plays game basketball.

I'm rooting for him, and innately believe in him -- but not because of anything I saw because there was nothing to see.

I guess we'll see if there is anything to see this year.

hopefully, JVG can help Boki out. If Boki does step up and does turn out to be a shooter like Peja, him and Yao would be a dangerous combo.

Nachbar is my favorite player...and Jason Collier too (sorry that wasn't funny). I anticipate that he, Nachbar, will be starting by March.

Posey/Tmo should be traded...they play without any structure or fundamentals, which the Rockets are strongly in need of.

On another note, I have a quetion...
-With Ewing likely coming to the Rockets as an assistant and possibly Mario Elie, shouldn't the Rockets try to bring in some more experienced assistants (in terms of coaching)?

ive heard rudy and carrol mention it quite a few times...as i said before though, there seems to be more to this story than meets the eye...but i sure hope to see him develop into our starting sf within a year or two...his shooting will obviously be the catalyst in spreading out the defense and keeping it honest against yao....we should also keep posey if possible as a change of pace defensive specialist off the bench...this is the kind of depth that we definately need as a western conference contender...

t-mo is at best a 3rd stringer at sf in this league...the fact that he is a prototipical tweener makes him much too slow to play the 3 on a consistent level and much too weak to play the 4...

Why are all of a sudden is Nachbar being projected as a future star. I'd love if he was a Peja in disguise, but I need more information to back that up.

I've been waiting on this post for a long time. I've been wondering what people have been hearing about Nachbar. Its hard to beleive Rudy would do possible harm to the team by benching a player who provides a serious need (shooting) just to help TMo develop.

I assumed TMo was higher on the depth chart because TMo cost the team a first round pick and, as a second round pick, a decision about his contract would have to be made after this next season.

I just hope JVG gets a hands on evaluation of both Nachbar and Griffin before trades involving either player are made.

He should see some playing time this year either w/ Rockets or someone esle.

When he was drafted there was no need to play him. They wanted to take their time to develope his skills and also there was a log-jam at the SF position.

FYI- Scouts had said if he came out this year he would be taken in the in top draft 5 spots.

Boy I was getting ripped left and right during the season when I said Boki was not quick and that he looked too slow for the NBA game. I also said there was no reason just to throw him out there to "let him develop" like almost everyone was calling for, when it would have been pointless since he clearly was not ready and throwing a guy out there who isn't ready does not help development. I agree that his quickness will get better as he learns what is going on and gets in better shape, but it is nice to see someone actually backup the point I was repeatedly putdown for making about Boki not being ready physically and his quickness being non-existent.

TMO brings to the table what this team needs, a hustle player, who dives on the floor, doesn't have to have the basketball, bodies up on D and on the boards, and can sink the mid range jumper. TMO is a poor man's version of the guy that half this board is wanting us to get, P.J. Brown.

Everybody's always complaining because of this team's selfish play. TMO is not a selfish player. He is a role player, the kind that we need on this team. I hope he bulks up about 20 pounds and runs Eddie and MoT out of the gym myself.

    James Posey!

I would rather have Mobley starting at the 2, with Nachbar at the 3, and Posey backing up both of them.

Just curious about the trade with Toronto we had that dealt with Hakeem. Toronto made the playoffs the year before last, so we were able to get their lottery protected pick for 2002 (#15) last year which turned out to be Boki. If Toronto had not made the playoffs that year then we would not have gotten the pick from them. Does anyone know the details of that trade, would we have gotten Toronto's pick this year (#4) or was that still lottery protected?

I heard on a Rocket broadcast this past season that Nachbar beat Rice in a 3 point contest in practice. So trade Rice and play Nachbar if not what a waste of a 15th pick!! Rice doesn't play D either!!

Most European players take a few years to find there game. GUys like Peja and Dirk weren't exactly all-stars there 1st or even second years. Boki justs needs time to adjust his game to NBA standards. Once he does that then we got a great player on our hands.

All I want is for Boki to get playing time just so you guys can see how good he is, skill wise.

TMo is a hardworker, and a very good player. But Boki should surpass him.

I see Posey and Boki of the same level/style. It's just that Posey has more experience/playing time.

Boki can pass better, and can shoot better than Posey. Posey is a good slasher/dunker, but so is Boki. You'll see.

He played fine and looked like a regular rotation player the first couple games of the season when he got meaningful playing time. Why he was almost never seen after that is truly a mystery. Then again much of what went on with this team last season simply boggles the mind. Mooch dribbling out shot clocks, Yao and EG getting waived off in the paint or being ignored on the roll part of a pnr, Cuttino passing to the opponent 5-6 times a game, Cato and Yao never playing together, Yao coming back in w/ 4min left in the fourth quarter after the opposing team just went on a 14-2 run, Steve getting an open look and opting to hold instead and wait for the defender to come to him before taking his J.......man am I glad this coaching staff is history.

But they were real nice guys, though.

    :p

"Golly-gee-wiz!...Awe shucks, guys! Francis....pass to the open man....purdy please?"

    "No prob, coach!...No prob..."

Boki sat on the bench because Rudy saw that Steve Francis would not pass Boki the ball why is this so hard for most of you to understand? You waste so much time speculating on this and that when all you had to do to get to the bottom of this so called mysterious Boki benching was watch the first few games Boki played in and really observed what was going on you would have seen the obvious, which was Boki was being ignored by the so called Franchise of the team. Rudy saw this and his only choice was to bench Boki in favor of the vets or Steve's buddy, Morris. Its as simple as that.
