Boki plays with passion. True, Padgett is just more polished but I think the playoff exposure is exactly the kind of push he needed as far as playing his game the way he knows he can. If he can hit the three in the playoffs, then he won't even hesitate next year in "meaningless" regular season games.

Turning point all the way. He knows he's got his foot in the door. He'll be shooting hundreds of shots a day and hitting the gym hard if he's any kind of player.

We need to hang on to Padge. He's a solid contributor.

The real question is do we give Pike another chance? He has showed none of the above qualities.

Pike is a hard worker, but he just doesnt have the physical skills to guard people and make great plays. He is a shooter and if he cant shoot then he wont get any playing time. But I wouldnt give up on him just yet, his high ankle sprain really hut him alot this season and wasnt given enough time to play through his shooting slump. You just dont forget how to shoot after one season. Remember when JJs shooting percentage was in the celler at the beggining of the season. Pike just cant bring anything else to the table except his shooting while JJ has all the intangibles.

I don't think Pike fully recovered from that ankle injury he had, and that says a lot about the guys age, it's not that i dont want pike to stay, its just that boki and padgett would be a better choice for the rockets right now.

You will probably be eating the words after next season when he does play.

What makes you think he will play next year? Unless he makes major improvements, he won't play much.

For the 15th pick in the 1st round, he is pretty much a total bust.

I'm pretty sure he will play as long as he is on this team. Unless they were showcasing him in the playoffs for a trade which i highly doubt.

He will get a chance this upcoming season to play. i don't think he is going to be a star but he will contribute in areas that we need.

I mean we can sit here and say he is a bust for a 15th pick but the guy has never got to play in 2 years that he has been here. how can you assess a guys talen based on 2 years of not playing? If he had played a full seaon and was crappy then i can agree with your comments that he is a bust. But we really don't have anything to judge that from other than a few games here and there. During which he has actually shown some signs of being able to improve and play.

Thats the only reason i am yet to call him a bust is becuas he hasn't been able to play.

That was the first thing going through my head when he hit that three and made those tough plays on Malone.

"Aw crap, he's got trade value now."

In a really good deal for an awesome player or package, I wouldn't be shocked at all if the other team demands Boki as a throw-in. Euros are all the rage and you can't technically say he's showed nothing now.

For all the knock on Boki's 3 point shooting, it's actually a pretty good 36% this year. And this from a player who doesn't play much to get into rythmn. Also, Boki supposedly shoots very well during practice. I'm not sure if this is a skill deficiency, rather than a mental problem. Especially when you play for a coach who distrust young players.

Yeah i mean if we do get a stud and they want him in there i don't think the Rockets will say no. I mean i am one of those guys that will just follow him for a season and see how he does and hope he doesn't end up being a good player that does what we wanted him to do and regret it in a way.

But hey it's a business and you have to learn to like the new people you get and slowly forget the past.

Boki really deserves 20+ mpg (most of them should be with Yao on court). He hustles, rebounds, and plays with passion. He's much tougher than Peja's sophore year.
Rox should have a longrun plan aiming at championships of 2-3 years later. I don't think JJ will qualify SF position by that time.
See how much SAC gains from the time spending on Peja. We harvest what we plant. We can't expect to buy a championship team when Yao signs Max. Even Cuban can't get every piece he want.

I belive in what your saying as well. I really think PT is going to change how a lot of people view Boki. That is the only real way we can assess if he is going to be something good for us or not. We can't keep him on the bench and say he's a bust or a stud. We have to seem him play day in and day out to really answer that and see if he can live up to his draft day potential.

Some you guys are acting like we blew a major pick on Boki. Just be thankful and we wernt the Denver Nuggets that picked Nickoloz Tskitishvili with the number 5 pick. Not many impact players in the first round after 15 would have made a difference. Maybe tashyan prince or kareem rush. The draft is becoming a crap shoot with so many foreign and high schoolers declaing and teams pick on their potential and not their readiness. Maybe top 5 picks are expected to contribute right away. Just my 2cents

I think Boki is gonna be a contributor next season. the 6th man is becoming more and more valuable these days...kind of like the back up QB. Assuming Steve is at the PG still (or traded), We play Jimmy at the 2 and Nachbar at the 3. Mobley brings buckets. He'll still get his 16 ppg. That benefits the team in so many ways. JJ plays less minutes. We get a scoring punch off the bench, and Nachbar gets to develop with valuable minutes. This move would really benefit the team. If he played 25 mpg next year he could realistically average 10 ppg and 5 rpg. Thats plenty if he plays good defense. (Preventing points is just as good as scoring them. )
