His only skill is his scoring ability though so it makes it more important that he be proficient at it. He isn't a great defender, ballhandler, rebounder, or passer so he has to score to contribute and it has taken him 5 years to do so at an efficient clip. Alston and Battier have other facets to their games and can still contribute to wins without being "hot" from the outside.

A little less with the insults....Keep in perspective that JVG plays Luther Head at the point. The point!!!!! We are weakest in the west at the 4, and have no backupe point- JLIII should play for the Austin Toros if they would hae him.

Why shouldn't V-Span be getting at least some minutes???

Why not celebrate the success of Boki?

I agree and would add that Boki can run with the break. He has other attributes other than shooting.

    Battier inconsistent? Umm, right.
In Boki's sophomore year, he used him nearly seven times as much as Rudy did his rookie year.

To date, Boki's peak "usage rate" has been 20 minutes a game on a team that is not only bad, but injury riddled (take your pick, NOK or NJ). Doesn't sound to me like the coach's issue.
    Year 1: 35.5 FG%
    Year 2: 35.6% FG%
    Year 3 (Partial): 34.9% FG%

    Uh, you were saying?

For some reason, I don't think you can back this up...

Quit interfering with people's rants with facts. I'm afraid 8 years of George W. Bush has turned Americans against reality-based thinking.

Amusing... Yao Ming has his best game since the return, the Rocekts win in a blowout, Shane held Vince Carter in check, and what do people want to talk about?

    Boki Nachbar.

    Unbelievable.

Wonderful play that u talked about. I did not like however his proceeding two plays. One forced turnover passing. And another telegraphed crossover that was defended well.

Why anybody would bother with a serial liar like Rockets Dynasty (or his other User ID's) is beyond me.

NOt only did JVG use him more - he actually STARTED him at the beginning of the season. His horrid rotations and general ineptitude doomed him.

Fortunately in NJ nobody cares about defense, let alone defensive rotations.

Of course, they just got passed up by the Knicks in the playoff race - so maybe they should.

I agree at onetime when he was a Rockets and seems like JVG got his own preferences on players he wanted and i can't agree more but Boki could have been the sixth man rotation that this team is needed. But then again, JVG had a bad relationship with Boki as well. Big lost for Rockets and great addition for the Nets! Peace!

its only tiresome cause you are losing the debate Dak.

got an explanation for me? I like Boki...I admitted it, I admitted I gave up on him...I still like him and hope he does REAL well inthe future, but yall arguing that we made a huge mistake getting rid of him are wrong...plain and simple.

HE did not show enough to hang on to...at the time.

Ya know...Przbilla is doing a pretty good job from time to time, why oh why did we ever get rid of him? :p

My only complaint was- we gave Boki away as a part of a package to get Wesley.....

I guess Boki's moderate improvement as a rotation player for a below average team in a horrible conference is because the Nets just understand how to develop talent and has NOTHING to do with experience.

Clearly, if Boki would've had Lawrence Frank as a head coach in Houston and a completely well-organized group like the one in New Jersey here, he'd be a star by now.

Saay goes for VSpan and Novak. Experience has NOTHING to do with improving one's game. That's so overrated.

And we started winning after we got Wesley. Wesley was a contributor for the Rockets during his two seasons here. Boki was not a contributor to winning over the same two years. He barely is right now.

I asked this once before, I think... but didn't we keep that other rookie from Boki's draft class? What happened to his development? Isn't his growth r****ded due to JVG's inability to develop players compared to guys like Scott and Frank?

No... not Tayshaun. He looks like Tayshaun, though... big light-skinned guy, the one we actually drafted in 2002.
