Well, It is over, the Boki bet has been closed, Sam Fisher has been proven wrong, and the Boki supporters have been proven right. The Bet thread Boki has averaged a solid 8.1 ppg in New Orleans and thus proven to the world that he can play a significant role in the NBA Boki's stats It is now time to pay the piper Sam Fisher..... I am looking for suggestions on what quote to put into his signature - All suggestions are welcome, but vulgarity is not appreciated. I will pick one and it will occupy Sam's signature for the next 90 days. WOOHOOO !!! Let's have some fun ! DD™
I shiver to think how someone could lose a bet when Boki's stats are a pathetic 0.397 shooting percentage, 2.8 boards (he's 6-9 right??) and 1.2 assists (though he did have 1.2 turnovers). I guess 8.1 ppg in 20 minutes is decent, though, and 37% from the 3 point line isn't horrible either.
they are mediocre stats for a marginal rotation player on a bad team pretty much not quite "a significant role in the NBA" at best, Boki has proven he can be a middle of the rotation player on a really bad team
No kidding. What the hell did Sam bet? That took some guts to say that Boki couldn't do much on a sorry team - but Boki came through and really didn't do much on a sorry team.
Ok, I just looked for the bet and apparently it was that Boki would average 6.5 points for them. LOL! The sad thing is, he almost won it. Wow. That took some guts.
The great part about the bet was that Boki amazingly adhered almost exactly to the betting line for the majority of the season, each few game pushing him over or under the 6.5. He got "hot" at the end to cement it. NBA careers are short for role players. Nachbar is no lock to even be on a roster a year from now, but he at least showed a modicum of ability in the last month to justify his draft position. More than Reece Gaines can say.
You should have put one more clause in the bet: "The loser is required to post 5 times per day in the GARM so that enough exposure of the sig is ensured." As of now, Sam can just refrain from posting for 90 days and the sig will never be seen.
As crappy as Boki had played before, he had an awesome stretch of like 30 games where he averaged over 10 pts on better than 50% shooting from the field and 50% behind the arc. Boki came through in the clutch. As for sigs, I don't know, maybe something like, in DaDa I trust. I like the Daddy one.
