Oh trust me I'm not saying I'm satisfied with the team either. But this idea that you can improve the entire roster in one offseason is a farse. Just look at the dead weight we had to dump just to get this all started. Now we are finally in a spot to bring in select players to solidify our roster. it took the Bulls 5 or 6 years to get over the hump after many failed seasons. Of course by then MJ had matured and would not be denied but hopefully that same metamorphosis is happening to Yao and if T-Mac can be Yao's Robin its all good.
I'm sorry but I really cannot see how you came to any of those conlcusions based on the current roster. Is there about 3 other players new to the team that the rest of us are unaware of?
Why does everybody mention his 13% 3 pt %, he took 15 threes all year.Yes, he is not a 3 pt sharp shooter but he is a good athlete and perimeter defender. Not saying I would want to pick him up for 4M a year but I think he is a better player than Bogans.
I think it's hilarious that some people consider Bogans a real loss. You can nab a CBAer, or an undrafted fa that can put up as much production as he does. bfd.
Sorry? Bogans played significant minutes on our team last year because we were injured. As such, the team sucked. Conclusion = Bogans could get significant minutes on our team, but only if other key players are injured, meaning the team is not doing well. Why pay a player as if they would have a role bigger then they do. Bogans would have been a nice keep, BUT at a cheaper price.
I don't think some Rockets fans are getting the picture. The entire offseason is not "Moneyball" so far it is COST CUTTING Yeah let's get those CBA players then they might be only a little expensive to the Rockets. It's becoming clearer and clearer that Alexander is selling out.
Les has been selling out for a long time now. I don't mind b****ing out the organization, but Bogans is little more than a CBA scrub himself, and I don't particularly care about "missing out" on him.
Oh come on. Dude look at players that get the $1.8 million LLE, wtf is this cheaper price nonsense. $2 million is definitely what Bogans would be market wise PERIOD. And he IS A BACKUP SG Now even the fans are sounding like Morey and Alexander with all this CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP If you want to compete you can shell out $2 million for a good backup SG/SF especially one that is backing up a SF with a questionable back. This defending of CD and Rockets management has got to stop. So far this offseason is the worst performance I can ever remember by them.
Good point! If he can hit the mid-range shot and play tough D, that's good enough for me. He 46% overall, so that's a good sign of efficiency. I think he'd be a solid pick-up; someone who could switch off with Luther Head at the 2. Hopefully, Luther can be the range sharpshooter who plays the quicker 2's.
And how exactly was Bogans any better than Bowens...bottom line, they both suck. Bowens just does it for less money.
He wasn't much better (scrub), but at least he could hit a jump shot. When Bowen is in the game, it's 5 on 4 b/c they leave him wide open and he is afraid to shoot the ball. Wasn't the case with Bogans (though he will never be better than a backup). Bowen doesn't belong in the NBA
Be honest when Bogans is in the game it's still 5 on 4. With Bogans and Bowens in the game its 5 on 3. Neither player could hit a damn jump shot. I hope you got a snap shot of some of the jumpers that Bogans made because he sure as hell does not make many. And please god...purge my memory of all the blown fast brakes the Rockets had because Bogans could not finish with a freakin lay up. BTW, there is a new official Synonym for the word sucks...it's Bogans. From now on instead of saying that player sucks you can say...that player Bogans. Thank god he is not going to be on our team next year.
DeShawn Stevenson no thank you. Last I heard of him he'd been sticking a bottle up some teenagers fanny.
"Wow, our rail thin bench just got thinner. Curious about the Stro+Gay move for Battier. Adds immediate help but deplets depth. Missed chance at James (although he obviously never wanted to be here). Appears Plan B was thin or non-existent and most FA's are gone. Keith Bogans is gone. I still have faith that we can be good next season but I'm really wondering now how it will come together now." There are my thoughts EXACTLY. Our depth is horrible right now and to be perfectly honest I don't see where anything better is going to come from? We don't have any tradeable assets to speak of and the free agent pull is running thin. Prepare to kiss next years first round draft pick goodbye. We are going to be old and slow FOREVER. Losing Bogans is a much bigger deal than most of you seem to realize. We need more bench and we need it desperately at this point. God I hate CD.
So, are you assuming our offseason moves are completed? If so, then I can agree with you, but it does look like we have a full MLE and two TEs still left on the table, unless you assume by letting Bogans guy we are somehow not considering using them? And Bowen will not get 15 minutes a game. McGrady and Battier will play the lion's share of the minutes at the three, while as it stands Howard, Hayes, and Battier will get all the minutes at the four. Where does Bowen play? The two?
why do I get a vision of West sitting in his office doing his best Mr Burns impression "Excellent" Rocket River
