You may be on to something there SSG.

What about a tribute to great Rockets of the past?

    We could have:

    Moses Malone Division

    Hakeem Olajuwon Division

    Calvin Murphy Division

    hmmmm....

So are there going to be players with daul position ability like last year ala Jalen Rose at G or F and Ben Wallace at C or F? and in my opinion Dirk should be a C/F.

As of right now there are no multi-position players. Jalen Rose is listed as a forward, Nowitzki a center. I may have the ability to make them multi-position, not sure if I can or not yet.

Bob, go to the lineup page of one of the teams and see if players are listed as multi positional there. Remember in baseball, that is where you go place players in other positions.....

Dirk at C? No way. Especially not this year. Dirk can be a SF/PF if you want to do that, but there's no way he should be a C.

how about with one of Nellie's small ball line-ups of PG-Nash SG- Finley SF- Jamison PF - Najera C- Dirk. Or do you consider that line-up to be void of a center?

But that's like saying EG is a center because in some of Rudy's lineups he may float over to the paint. Or that Cuttino Mobley is a forward in Rudy's 3 guard lineup when Mooch and Steve were out there. Sure he may play that position at times, but Mobley is not a F, he's a G. By the same token, sure Dirk floats over to center at times, but he's a PF/SF.

In other words, everybody plays out of position, but if we wanted to go that far, then KG is a PG/SG/PF/SF/C. :)

You could even use the uniform colors too

    red and gold
    red and blue
    red and silver

Although it doesn't help my draft, I personally don't think some of those players are true centers.

However, it does help the league to have Dirk and what not because there are literally no Centers in the league. Thus Shaq domination if you don't include them.

So it doesn't really matter to me.

There is no seperation between PF and SF or SG and PG. So if you want to draft all shooting guards and no point guards, go right ahead. Or all small forwards and no power forwards, more power to you.

Behad, I tried that and Nowitzki is a center only and Jalen Rose was a forward only. However, part of the email I got from Fanstar had this to say:

Also, we will be adding a
multiposition option later this week to the site to accomodate your UT spot.

So hopefully that will correct that problem.

Having multipositional players is nice - g/f, f/c

but it really isn't that important to me.

We could always go by nba.com or fanstar's positional labels. As long as I know before the draft starts, I can adjust accordingly.

I'm all for multi-positional players. It makes the game more fun to me. I just hate it when they have kooky position assignments.

One other thing, it looks like the only setup they have is one game per week.

Should we try for a 2 games a week setup? Monday-Thursday and Friday-Sunday? Not sure if they can do this but if we want to try I can email them and ask.

There's not a split week option on the league rules page?

Yes there is. How do I know what days the games begin on? Is there an option to pick the days, or will it automatically be mon-thur and fri-sun?

With the next week fast approaching, everybody better get their cheat sheets together. :)

Have you gotten any news on multipositional eligilbilty yet finn? If Fanstar doesn't allow it how about this:

    - we list all multipositional players here on the bbs from some agreed upon site like yahoo, sportsline, nba. com, whatever.

    - We draft accordingly

    - after the draft the owner of the multi-pos player picks what position he wants to assign his multipositional players for the season (I dunno, you may be able to change their positions weekly as commish, but that would be a pain in the ass imo)

We wouldn't be as flexible in submitting lineups, but we would still have a much more flexible draft.
