Since there are so many people who want in, maybe you should have a secret ballot, Bob. All the returning members can vote on the hopefuls. It's probably the only fair way to handle it. For what it's worth, DFW_Rockets_Fan has defeated me two years running in the Finals in the JV league.
i'm in i guess Bob - with that many people wanting in, you could consider having 2 conferences if we use fanstar... ie each with it's own divisions and own player pools
That would be a tremendous amount of extra work for just one commish. It would probably be better if someone else just took the initiative and formed a second league.
I'm making edits to the original post... so... bump. I would think that Crisco, Phi, and Pimp are sure to want to play. They'll probably check in when they see the thread. Not sure about Matador or The Cat. I'm guessing Clutch may be too swamped to play this year, but we can wait.
Updated. If we're starting the draft on the 14th, the deadline for these guys to let us know if they're in should be tomorrow by 11:59:59 pm Central. My guess is Crisco will be in. Matador I'm not sure about. The Cat hasn't posted since mid September, so not sure about him, either. Clutch more than likely not I guess. What about scoring? I don't even remember the rules we went with.
No kidding. I just did a quick search and that stuff must've been buried on 12th page of the 2nd thread or something. Oh yeah, and which site do we use as the final say-so for Positions?
I'd ask for a spot in the league but it seems clear that they're all full. I think if there's an opening it should be filled by membership number. Senority has its privelages.
Here's a partial scoring system I managed to obtain from the league thread last year. I got it from one of Pimp's posts, but we also debated doing points for FT and FG percentages. Not sure we ever ended up doing that. Let me know if it sounds good and I'll update my first post with the info. Like I said, I'm not sure if we used shooting %ages or not : -------------------------------------------- Assists 2 Total Rebounds 2 Technical Fouls -3 Turnovers -1 Blocks 2 Three Pointers Made 1 Points 1 Steals 2
I'm in. DoD is right about the scoring. Not sure if we used the %s last year but I think we should leave em out til next year at least for the sake of simplicity. I believe the lineups were: 3 guards 3 forwards 1 center and 2 flex. Might have been 3 flex. How big the bench was I don't know. There was also a restriction on centers so there wouldn't be any hoarding. I think it was that you could only start 2 centers at the max, but a roster limit of 3 centers should accomplish the same thing.
12 Rounds Starting lineups - standard 8 man rotation: 1 center 2 guards 2 forwards 3 flex We definitely need to agree on a site to designate positions. Another idea to alleviate the problem of guys that do play multiple positions.
I'm going out of town this weekend, will send a list or whatever, but we need to get the ball rolling or put off starting the draft until Monday.
So is this right? Scoring system matters when you start to research your picks. (I'm trying to plan in advance just in case I'm in)
DarkHorse, Yes, I'm guessing we'll go with that. Nobody had a problem with it last year (although I think the 3 pointers are overrated *cough*), so we should be going with the same scoring this year. SSG, just make sure you have a pretty large list.
Are we calling out positions like last year? I don't mind saying Tim Duncan is a PF or a C, but we must have one site dictate that - I don't care if the site says KG is a PG. We're going to run into issues like most sites may make Lebron a PG whereas I hear he'll be playing a lot of SF this season.
