Is it me or were no rookies listed in draft, no jordan? How is all that gonna be handled... It almost looked like a drfat list from one year ago...

I still haven't heard a word from Cat. He has yet to visit the website. The draft is a no go until everyone has a chance to look at the scoring setup. So Cat, if your lurking, check in and let me know if you got the invite for the website.

Phi, the list is from last year, it hasn't been updated yet.

Maybe we should hold off starting it until next week. Hopefully the cbs stuff will be updated soon.

After checking out the HoopsAvenue League thread, it might be best if we do start this thing ASAP. They've been going at it for awhile now.

Pimp, this is the A-team, the all-star lineup of fantasy owners. I think we can get the job done in a timely manner.

Well, there are 29 owners there ... and not all of them all that active(some of the inactive ones have already been booted out). Add to that a slow live draft and the website being down for a week, and well ...

Only 1 and a half more rounds to go though :p

I can do the draft probably whenever if I am given notice ahead of time. I don't see why we just don't start it now. Just throw out your picks, its not that hard, esp since we all followed bball last year and should know what the players are capable of. It's not like we have to do it all in one sitting. If someone needs to take some time for their pick, fine, take however long you want until we get to a time when we have an organized draft get together.

    my 2 cents.

bob, is that email you sent me the final scoring system

and how are we going to do the promote/demoting at the end of the year?

the best from each division in my league and the last from each division in your league switch places?

Here are the divisions of the minor league:

    West: mduke, SF3, DVauthrin, Puedlfor

    East: Matador, Heath, chrisjent, vj23k

The scoring setup should be final. I will email if anything changes.

The promotion/demotion process will be decided by:

    Your league Champion moves up

Our leagues team with the worst record (wins/losses) gets demoted. If a tie for worst record occurs, we decide it by the head to head record between the two teams (loser in head to head steps down). If that doesn't decide it, the team with the lower point total steps down.

So only ya'lls last spot will be demoted. May I suggest a higher level of risk and more at stake (i.e. more league movement)? Maybe there should be more promotions/demotions between the two leagues? It would only create more participation from those on the bubble. Just a thought. It only those in the original league that would have more to lose.

There cannot be any more participation than we had last year. It was, by far, the most active and closest, from top to bottom, fantasy league I have ever been in.

We have great rivalries, lots of trades, owners staying up all night just to claim that waived player who becomes a free agent at 4am;)

Its up to the other owners if they want the 2 last place teams to drop down.

    What do you guys think?

    :D

Come on guys. Make it even more riskier and exciting by adding the challenge of 2 teams dropping down.

Does getting an extra point for 3 ptrs made mean that you get 4 points for a 3 ptr? If so, then I disagree with that. The extra point for difficulty is already built into the scoring in the fact it's a 3 ptr. Is this the way Sandbox did it?

It's still not as bad as rewarding a double-double with more points... laaaaaaaaame. :)

Yep, that is the way Sandbox did it. 4 pts total for three-pointers.

I like the idea of 1 bonus point for a double-double (3 for triple-double). One extra point isn't going to influence scoring much, and it gives you something extra to cheer for. It's something I thought Sandbox should have implemented.

Finn, are you sure you set it up correctly? Because the schedule, the draft, and everything else seem to point toward the league having been set up for last season. The schedule part is what concerns me the most. Almost to eery for me think it's correct. Can you set up another league and see it that league is updated with new players and schedules and stuff....I've just got a funny feeling that we may need to set this league up again....

Phi- give it a week, if its not updated by the end of next week, I will redo everything. It won't take long to open up another one if we have to.

The football league I am in at cbs was slow updating at the beginning as well.

Sounds like waiting is a good idea.
