Did we have 14 teams last year? Rob was in it, and there was one other guy who stopped visiting and was booted.

How do you guys want to set up the playoff system:

    1. 2 division winners play a 1 game final to determine the champion...or

    2. 2 division winners plus 2 wildcards (teams that finish second in their divisions) in a 2 week playoff format

I posted this in the Division 2 :( thread.

I think the maximum of 2 active C's should be removed if possible inder the CBS system. Sandbox did not have this rule, and if we're aiming to keep it as close as possible this rule should go away.

Yup, 14 teams. I remember now.

    - Bridghampton Killer Bees
    - Fadeaway's Cyberfish
    - Steamtown Pythons
    - League City can't Be Had
    - Phi's Sticky Pavement
    - Ren's Rockets
    - CriscoKidds
    - Smeg's Dragons
    - Platinum Pimps
    - DoD's team
    - Summer Song Giver's team
    - Rob's Lubbock Red Raiders
    - Wink Ballas
    - Mari-Beth team (formerly owned by IWannabelikeDream, who was booted for inactivity)

I guess it's too late to open up spots for Wink and Rob. No soup for them!

Heath, you have to have 1 center. The 2 max is only if you have 2 good centers (not likely) and want to use him as an active player. That doesn't mean you need 2 active centers all the time. However, you do need 1 active center at all times.

CBS has no difference between PF and SF or SG and PG (this sucks the big one) so I guess you can draft whatever you want:(

Ok - Then I misunderstood - I thought you could only have 2 centers of the 12 players on your team. As in can I draft a 3rd center for the IR?

You can draft whatever you want, as long as you have 1 center, 2 forwards and 2 guards to fill out a starting lineup (you also need 3 active players, they can be any position players)

You draft 12 players, a starting 5, and any position players you want.

Also, there is no IR. If a player gets injured you either:

    1. waive him

    2. keep him and hope he gets healthy quick.

I know - I just called it my IR as I have 4 players not needed in the lineup :)

No info on game limits Crisco. I will ask in the FAQ and hope for an answer.

I'm all for rules, but only rules that make sence. If you can start 3 guards or 3 forwards in your flex position then why not 3 centers. I have 3 good centers and I had hoped to use them all. Can someone explain the purpose of the only 2 active centers? Thanks.

That's cool, thanks. If there isn't any mention of game limits though, then I doubt there is any.

Wish I had known about being able to draft any guard or forward combo. I probly would have drafted differently, but oh well :p

    che sera sera.

Matador, it's nice that you have 3 good centers, but that rule has been in effect since the beginning. I think it was put in to have other people a chance to nab a decent center, instead of one person hoarding them. If you drafted 3 good ones, then you should have looked at the rules beforehand.

Personally I wouldn't mind the 2 active center rule being struck down, but I wouldn't mind keeping it either, as it has it's uses.

    oh yeah finn,

was there a way to make the games 2 times a week?

I'd be up for the number one playoff option.

I did read the rules. The rules I was given had no mention of only 2 active centers. You say the reason why this rule exists is so that one manager doesn't hoard all the centers. Well if a manager did this then he would suffer by having poor forwards and guards. There is no need for this rule since the manager is already being penalized.

Well this was the rule our commish gave us over 2 weeks ago in the 2nd page of this thread when we were deciding how starting lineups would look like.

I'd rather keep it, at least in our league.

The development league can take this rule out for all I care, but it was set in stone since the beginning here, and I want to stick with the rules we already have.

I never really noticed the 2 centers only stipulation. I think it's silly; if you have good centers you should be able to play them at flex just like anyone else. But anyway, since it was declared at the beginning, that's okay and we should probably stick with it. Either way is fine.

I'm here and ready to draft. I should be available all week, except for late nights (after 10pm) I'm on days ths week, and 3 am comes awfully early for me!

Having good centers is a commodity. Just ask Behad (traded Ewing for Marion last year) Unless you have Shaq, Zo and Mutumbo (the rest of them are a crap shoot) I fail to see why you would want to start 3 of them. Can you explain to me how a center will get you more points than a Forward or a Guard?

There is an option that we could play 2 games a week. It would not be like last year however. The way it is set up now is:

Week 1- Crisco vs Ren(example) Game starts Monday and runs through Sunday.

An option that is available is, a second game could be added. You would still play Ren from Monday to Sunday. With the additional game You would play another opponent:

    Week 1- Crisco vs Ren....and
    Crisco vs Fadeaway

Both games would run Monday to Sunday. Instead of just one game in that time period, you would play 2.

If you had the same players going in both games, their points would be the same. You could win one game and lose the other.

I'd be happy playing one game a week if that's the case.

Let's get some rounds out of the way today.
