Right about what? We all knew Hoyer was average at best. Mallet is still horrible. Yates had his bad playoff game in 2012.

How many playoffs team has Hoyer beaten this season? Mallett beat the Steelers at least.

Beat the steelers and Bengals last season. Does that count?

I don't think anyone here actually "loved" Hoyer - just that he was better than Mallett.

Well unfortunately he wasn't. Yates and Weeden are also better than Boyer.

Can't really compared Hoyer to Mallett because the latter wasn't in the playoffs.

I knew this thread would be bumped. Too funny.

My wants are in this order:

    Wentz
    Hackenberg
    Goff

Draft one and make them the immediate starter. Let them learn the hard way. Any of those three already have a better skill set then Hoyer. They may not have the experience in the system, but they'll put it together quick enough to start from day one. Get one of the three in the first, and spend the next three rounds getting playmakers on offense.

I would have liked to have been wrong if it meant a Texans win today. Unfortunately Hoyer did what he always does and it was the main cause of the Texans getting crushed by the Chiefs for a second time this season. The only good news is that we'll never have to deal with him again.

How high are those guys on average draft boards?

From just googling, Wentz is likely the first QB taken?

To me, from what I've seen, it would go something like this:

Lynch or Goff at 1 and 2.
Cook or Wentz at 3 and 4.
    Hackenberg at 5.

We should have a shot at one of Cook or Wentz and Hackenberg from where we pick. Of course there's a long way until the draft. I expect Wentz and Hackenberg to rise. I think they're the two QBs to pick, and I think Goff is close behind.

When it's said and done, I expect Lynch to go to the Browns, Goff to go to the Niners, Wentz to the Rams, Cook to the Jets, and then we'll take Hackenberg in the first.

One bad playoff game does not a prophet make.

Hoyer was average down the stretch. He was better than Mallett. That's what this thread was about.

The guy is a career backup for a reason. He doesn't have the composure when it comes to big games, and he doesn't have the toolset to be a consistently good starter in the league. He's the opposite of Mallett (whose mental deficits come from being flat out dumb and an addict) but slightly above him when it comes to overall effectiveness.

I just think its the safe bet. People will complain, but this is the year we HAVE to get a QB. Whether its a huge reach or not. Besides, I think Booker from Utah may be a better RB than Elliott, and we might be able to get him in the second, if we wants running back.

I think you go full offense the first four rounds. Get something like Hackenberg, a tight end, a lineman, and then a receiver.

If not a lineman, get a defensive end in the second and tight end in the third.

Man Mallett wasn't going to lead us to the promise land with his immature always late to practice ash. So no Bobby wasn't fully right. He was dead on about Hoyer though.

All I can say is WOW! I never seen a horrendous performance in the playoff's by an NFL QB. Dude wasn't even under pressure like that and he still threw picks like it was going out of style.
